Zin in the Ederson thread reckons we have put down a marker for a central midfielder today....someone not previously mentioned and not (and this is only my interpretation) someone who is a household name/someone you would automatically think of..

He also reckons the fullbacks are boxed off (Im guessing that is walker and mendy) - can see walker just dragging out all summer as thats what happens when you are dealing with direct rivals ...they have to play the media game for the fans sake she expect denial at first then some stories to discredit the player(s) and then finally the transfer.

I think with certain tactics, Fernandinho can be great there. It depends on the game and whether we want the width to come from the right back or the right winger. For example, if we have Raz on the right wing, Fernandinho can be perfect at right back, moving into midfield, taking his man with him to give Sterling plenty of 1 v 1's. On the other hand, if we're playing Sané/Bernardo on the right, we'd want them to have the freedom to come inside, so Fernandinho would be a poor choice at RB in this situation and Walker would be ideal.

That's strange because Hunter usually knows his stuff, but I've definitely seen a lot of stuff saying the spanish tax authorities changed it in late 2016 from being counted as income to capital gain - which got rid of the tax liability.

If we were going for a Napoli midfielder it would be Jorginho in my opinion.

He's fast, makes tackles, has great passing range and vision, and he is on the ball constantly. Makes sometimes hundreds of passes in a game.

Jorginho was benched for a significant part of the season because Diawara outperformed him, he's a pretty decent player mind you but it won't be long before he permanently loses his place in their starting XI.

I do not disagree. Jorginho would be a good squad player and fit.

Sarri didn't know how to get them playing together, but that doesn't mean Jorginho isn't as good as Diawara or that Diawara outperformed him, he just chose the more physical player and it was a mistake IMO.

In fact once Sarri brought Jorginho back in the started playing much better and finished the season incredibly.

Jorginho is the definition of a Pep player, constatnly open to the ball, always knows where it's going to go before he's already got it, positionally brilliant. I'd love him here, and if Sarri doesn't rate him as high as Diawara (who don't get me wrong is also great), we might get a better fee.

IMO Nainggolan is too old, not a proper defensive midfielder and too much of a red card liability. Kroos also not a Yaya alternative, hence why he needs Casemiro behind him.
