People want truth in politics and yet there are millions who are going to vote Labour on the basis of a whole load of promises all of which simply won't be deliverable - of course these people are hopeful. The Tories are trying to tell it how it is and the people get apoplectic.

£10 minimum wage, no student tuition fees, free childcare, no tax rises (other than for those who already pay the most and business) more wages for teachers, nurses, etc, more money for the NHS, schools, public services more generally.

Wow, it sounds bloody brilliant if you don't have the mental capacity to understand how it will all be funded. Of course their f'kin hopeful!

Like chippy there's a morbid part of me that wants Labour to get elected just to nail this socialist utopia once and for all, but then common sense kicks in when I think of the long term damage this would do and the fact that my little boy will have to pick up the tab Labour leave behind in the future.

Common sense, money tree, socialist utopia, live within our means, mortgage the future, economically illiterate, tighten our belt, nanny state, pie in the sky, bottomless pit....blah, blah, blah.

You should watch white gold on BBC iPlayer, about double glazing salesman in the 80s right up your street.

Haha, swap the word "Labour" for "Brexit" and swap "Tories" for "Remainers" and see how that one turned out!

Corbyn wants to get us back to being a nation that builds and creates, sorting out the stagnated infrastructure and not just a nation built on the Canary Wharf section of finance.

I think you misunderstand Corbyn, somewhat. He does have a 'socialist outlook', but he has grown his views in practical terms, but you refuse to see it, like many do. He's not a one man party and as Paxman pointed out, last week, in fact his own 'socialist values' aren't reflected in the Labour manifesto and yet Corbyn is still immensely proud of its democratic vision.

Sounds to me he's not entirely the same Corbyn you continually think about...

I think we're destined to be doing this for ever

Well you were saying urban genies "socialist ideals" outside of eu post was spot on.

And they might be, you answered with it being bollocks because no one in europe has chose it, well as I was talking about the uk after we leave so there is a chance it can be tried, it kinda fits that the EU isn't as a trading block that promotes capitalism gimna encourage internationalist universal socialism.

But the post UK can if it wants to.

Personnally the treatment of greece proved that the EU should have had any left wimger voting leave and I will admit I decided in the booth, partly because I never expected remain to lose and also because as I said I expected a tory exit would lead to living a really shit life once they had had their way (basically I voted to keep the workimg time directive, maternity rights, workers rights etc that I still think the tories will ditch).

Many said left or right didn't come into the decission but for me it was important, I know a few labour friends who voted leave, some like me voted remain but losing hasn't bothered us and a small number who were distraut and still waffle on about it.

All in all if we had the referendum again I would probably vote leave as it was 50/50 on the day.
As someone who considers themselves a socialist, I too was in a quandry about the EU vote. I have complained about the EU for the last 10 years, but I had to admit that one thing that worried me was the potential erosion of workers rights under a Tory Government. In the end I felt I had to go with my gut feeling and vote leave. I feel that with a Labour Government my worries on that front will be no longer relevant. I believe that if the Tories get re-elected, so many things that make this country great will go. I truly have a vision of us all as 'units of productivity' with none of the finer things (i.e. things not run purely for profit) that bind us as a caring society.

Better than two Tory men and a dog....

A group of people excited at Labour Party giveaways at the expense of other people's hard graft and huge government borrowing..

Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott as PM, Chancellor and Head of the Home Office. Does it really get any worse..?

Do you really want an answer to that?

He had the power and opportunity to have supportive dialogue with all parties rather than just one...........

You are just ignoring the reality for convenience I would suggest

Is that the reality that he met with representatives tat Ives of the UVF as well as the provost, or do you not want to hear about that as it may not meet with your convenient ideas and political persuasion?
