Alexis Sanchez

I completely disagree with this.

We haven't even mustered a title challenge for the last 3 seasons and last season we struggled to score goals. Signing one of the top players in the PL who will pretty much guarantee 20+ goals and 10+ assists is a no brainer. There is also the winning mentality he will bring and experience that he can give to the likes of Sterling and Sane.

The only question any City fan should ask is whether signing Sanchez gives us a better chance of winning Trophies. I think it's blatantly obvious that he does and therefore anything else is irrelevant.
The whole of football will think that what City need is a central defender. that is a no-brainer. And Sanchez at 28/29 is not guaranteed to repeat what he did last season. He will find it easier at Arsenal next season because he can run all over, play wing, striker midfield all in the one game, but he wouldn't be able to do that at City.

Sorry. I know everyone disagrees with me, but I can't reply to further posts as I'll spend all day doing it and got things to do

Lol, Marvin, that kind of shows how much mental gymnastics you're doing to justify your opinion, seeing as a fluid front three with everyone moving around, swapping wings and playing up front is exactly what guardiola wants.

That's a relief

Excuse me for asking, but in what rulebook does it say that whatever team signs Alexis Sanchez cannot buy a centre-back in the same window? We have effectively got endless money. We'll do both and it'll be fine.

I was about to post this but saved me a job.

So arguably the best player in the Premier League is being deemed as on the wane off the back of his performances in some tin pot competition consisting of a bunch of glorified friendlies.

Sanchez is a wonderful footballer and he will be for at least the next 3 years.

You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and you are a smart guy so ignore anyone who gives you crap. Just shows themselves up to be honest.

That said I don't agree that he'll have less freedom at City. I think he'll dictate his own role because Pep will have that much faith in his maturity as a player familiar with Pep's system.

But he could be a flop too as anyone could be. Hope not. Hope he's phenomenal.

Exactly the type of insight into the game that is all too often lacking on here Marv lol

According to our friends at BBC Sport, Mediacity, Salford Quays, across the Water from Manchester United......

Meanwhile, Arsenal have not yet received any bids for 28-year-old Chile forward Alexis Sanchez, who told reporters on Friday that he has made a decision on his future.

What just so we can win some transfer war with Arsenal fans? If Sanchez signs for City, then he will replace one of Jesus or Aguero in our starting line up so the improvement is marginal. We're talking squad depth at most and remember he will be 29 next season.

I would rather we complete the deals for Walker and Mendy and bring in a defender. Seems to me that there is actually quite a big difference in the valuations we have of players like Walker and Mendy so I am not as confident as you that we can just buy anyone and everyone
This.
