It's Quiet - a new dawn

I don't know mate.

The only issue I think that will put us of VVD is the £60m price tag Southampton have set and Liverpool were willing to pay.

I would want Sergio Ramos for that money.
He's only 25 though. With the right training around him he has all the attributes to become a Ramos type defender. I felt even at £60m it was a solid signing for Liverpool, good defenders cost just as much as attackers these days because of their rarity.

We just released 5 players! And we currently have no full-backs in our squad. We don't have to sell to buy. With players returning to pre-season. I'd imagine we see some quick action on full-backs at least.
Patience my friend the fullback position will be known before we set off to the USA

i hope Toby Alderweireld.

If Tolmie is right and he has a buyout from next season of around £23m was it? Then if he is refusing or stalling to sign a new contract I could see us going all out in trying to get him.

£40m could get him I reckon if it is the case, and obviously if he fancies the move.

Many say VVD is the best defender in the league but I disagree, for me Alderweireld is, and you only have to look at Spurs' defensive record to see it.

If we could take Sanchez of Arsenal and Walker and Alderweireld off Spurs, that would be a huge advantage taken by City.

The Independent says we've ended our interest in Marquinhos and that he's signing a new contract with PSG. I didn't even realise we'd been linked with him, could he have been the super-duper top secret centre-back? The political tension between Qatar and the UAE may explain why it was kept so quiet compared to our other targets...

Just speculating of course.
