I disagree, I think they'd be quite happy to let it drag on preventing him going to City until September.

To be honest, I actually think it suits City to drag it out rather than Arsenal. Sanchez isn't going to be ready to start the season anyway so there's little need for City to rush this, but if Sanchez has indeed told Arsenal he wants to join us and isn't going to change his mind then it suits Arsenal to negotiate a decent fee, get him off your books, and quick.

On a side note, and just for a bit of balance, I had a look on Arsenal Mania and they seem confident that he's going nowhere. It seems they're using Arsenal's official Twitter as the source for their optimism - they've tweeted that it was 3 years to the day that he signed and posting clips of some of his goals. I must admit that it seems odd for them to do this if he's definitely leaving so maybe it's not yet cut and dried that he's coming to us after all.

I don't think it would be a disaster for City if this doesn't come off, but for Arsenal he is the centre-piece of their team. If they are going to sell him, better to do it now, and allow time for the whole of Arsenal FC to get their heads around it, than let the trauma destabilise the opening weeks of their season.

I don't think City would be pursuing this still if we didn't believe that we had a very good chance of signing him. I know there have been transfer sagas that go on all Summer and that end in disappointment, but we pulled out of the Pogba deal last season quite early on. Likewise RVP. City don't tend to pursue deals to the death unless we have good reason.....I can think of one or two exceptions though.

It'd say more if they hadn't posted stuff, they've just no choice in acting as though all is well regardless of what is actually going to happen.

Deal is done. City have his image rights as they are currently editing Con Fed cup highlights for video on website. No idea on fee etc he's definitely ours though. We've printed his shirt today

You seem to get awfully current and up to date updates. That just makes it feel less realistic to me, fingers crossed you're right but I'll hold off from getting excited!
