Will struggle to finish in the top four.
I wonder if it would be portrayed as a failure for Mourinho by the media.
I personally think it's too early to tell.
Will struggle to finish in the top four.
They're looking good early doors. They did last season as well, as we did. Long, long way to go.
I doubt it, if we play to our potential we should finish comfortably ahead of them but Chelsea seem to be in a bit of turmoil and Spurs are treading water in the market so I can see them getting top 3 quite easily. Will struggle to finish in the top four.
Has little to do with Matic. Pogba was very good last season (the negative comments here notwithstanding) and he seems to be rounding into superstar form this season. Matic will help when they play other top teams, but right now he is just another big body. Not much different to bigbrush.
Pogba is special. Lukaku is on a confidence high, at some point that will break. Martial is my real worry. If he keeps playing at that level, then they will eventually have a 4 headed attacking monster with Rashford and Martial on the wings with Lukaku up top and Pogba just behind next to Mkt or Mata. That is a very strong front 5 or 6 when confident.
I still think their weakness is defense. RB is older and noticeable slower. LB is good on the ball but a poor defender. And Jones is error prone. SO they have 1 true defender and a great keeper. But unfortunately, they don't play open football against other top clubs. You can expect both Matic and Bigbrush starting in the middle with Pogba agains t other top teams.
It is a winning formula. Attack the small teams with your speed strength and t talent and then bully the top teams with your size and compactness. If they play it right, they'll be in the running come May.
We just need that confidence to break soon and Lukaku to return to been a poor first touch striker.
The only thing that concerns me is how much tinkering Pep does. I think United will do less and will be more cohesive for it.Their players are more than good enough to win the League but hopefully their manager will be their weak point.
Unfortunately, they will be there or there abouts IMO. They have a good squad and will bully many teams, scoring goals through set pieces and direct play. They will shut up shop against the best teams, and will do the same if they are leading the league. They have significant influence on the media and referees and that will earn them points and keep the pressure off: the press seem to be willing them to do well and it has influence. It is not a style of play to be enjoyed but it is effective in the Premier League; they will just be better at the direct style than most of the other clubs who play in the same way.
We play the more exciting brand of football and have a technically superior, deeper squad. Pep is a romantic though and I love him for it. He believes in the way football should be played and will not change, even in the last two minutes of a game. This can potentially cost points and it is not an area that United will lose points in, at least not for the want of trying. I watched their game yesterday and they looked fairly poor for the vast majority of the game but won comfortably. I think that's the way it will be unfortunately.
I have never wanted a team to lose as much as I want them to lose but they are going to be close rivals this season. To beat them to the title, we cannot afford to drop silly points. We need to win by playing great football and win when we don't. It's the latter we need to learn and learn it quickly.
Good post. They are an efficient machine now and have added the necessary players to drag them through games. With the refs, media and PL on their side it'll be tough to finish above them.
However, I'm confident we've got the best team in the Prem and with a smidge of luck we'll win it.
Here's the odds. You conclude this after one game?
Any chance you could pm me the lottery numbers for the next few months please
Unfortunately we had the best team last year and came no where near winning it. I just hope we can keep the consistency where we need to be to mount a serious challenge and not be stuffed over by the horrific reffing we had last season.
Oh dearHere's the odds.
Jesus, when they beat Leicester comfortably in their next match I fear bluemoon will implode.
How about a hat-trick off Ian?You mean a Leicester side probably without the injured Vardy
Exceedingly.that would be nice
