Well from our side: We don't really need Sanchez this moment and are willing to wait because that means a lower price. Our first bid was reported as £45m I believe and we are slowing increasing it.

The closer the end of the window comes the stronger our bargaining position gets. Arsenal probably want £70m+ but will probably have to settle for less given their inferior bargaining postion.

Sanchez hasn't put in a transfer request because he doesn't need to. He made his position clear behind the scenes and has nothing to gain from making it public because he KNOWS Arsenal will sell. Coutinho and VVD know that their respective clubs would prefer to keep them given they both have many years left on their contract and if they don't force a move, the move has zero chance of happening.

Arsenal have just offered the Ox a new bumper contract and are desperately trying to get him to stay. They are in a terrible postion bargaining wise because everyone knows that if Ox, Ozil & Sanchez all see out their contracts, Arsenal will have to spend £150m+ JUST to replace them, how about the additional money needed to improve other positions and the squad in general. They will never spend that kind of the money under Stan & the board.

I have a bad feeling that this will have an impact on us getting Sanchez. If rumors are true, Lemar is Arsenal's replacement for Sanchez. With all the other players who have left already, and now Mbappe, I think Monaco will try their hardest to keep Lemar. If Arsenal were smart, they've shown quite the opposite, they would have a backup plan for Lemar in case this scenario occurred. If they do have plan b for replacing Sanchez, they've done a good job of keeping it hush-hush.

Ahh forgot about that possibility. My only issue is that Leicester would take them to the cleaners if they make a go at Mahrez after they sell Sanchez. We'll probably be willing to pay 60m for Sanchez, but Leicester would probably require 50m for Mahrez and Arsenal would like to keep as much of the revenue from Sanchez as possible.

Not sure we were ever in the race. Any top tier transfers plays out the same way for us. Linked all summer, then they sign for Barca, Real or even PSG.

We're good at getting the transfer fee and wages up though.

If that true mate.....think we need one more transfer window before we can really push the big boys in europe. Still a few holes that need sorting out but guess we cant do it all in one window!
