Alexis Sanchez

It's really annoying me that the Times, M.E.N., Guardian and Telegraph are still trying to say Sterling is being used as a make-weight, and not only that, but it's been a surprise to him, as if we're blindsiding him. Not to mention they're all trying to drum up Aguero drama again.

Annoying but not a surprise

If Arsenal had asked to take Sterling in part exchange for Sanchez, would the club have been obliged to tell Sterling? Don't players often have it written into their contracts that they have if to be notified if their club receive an offer for them? So if Sterling is away with England and someone from City contacts him (or his agent) to tell them that Arsenal want him (even though City do not want to sell), could that have been leaked to the media (perhaps by the agent).

John Cross from Mirror was the one who initiated the story yesterday with the "City offering Sterling to clinch deal blah blah". Then Simon Mullock from S Mirror but reliable for the City end said it was Arsenal who brought Sterling to the table and that City wanting cash deal only.

Someone asked Tolmie on here yesterday morning about the big difference of info from 2 journalists at the same newspaper group. tolmie replied:

"Cross isn't wrong. He's pals with Sterling's agent.
More a case of Arsenal chancing their arm. It only becomes an issue if we ask Sterling what his thoughts are.
Cash is king"

I''d take from that Sterling's agent was 100% aware of what was happening and before it broke in the media and that Cross made a speculative "exclsuive" on the back of it.

At least this that Sterling in part of any deal has been Squashed and at least it's been on the yellow ticker for over an hour to put that well and truly to bed by the bullshit media.

Snippet from Simon Stone, BBC. Pretty obvious really. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/41087478

"Manchester City do not regard the Alexis Sanchez situation as over because their £50m bid has been turned down.

Now dialogue is established between City and Arsenal, City can try to establish what Arsenal want in terms of fee and, potentially, player exchange, with every option being treated on its merits."

For Sanchez to ask permission to leave Chile for some "private business" means that he must have had contact from Arsenal to say a deal had been concluded, and as one or two other have suggested its all about posturing from the Gunners.
OK maybe his agent or City have told him but I would still expect Arsenal to have confirmed this with him.Could well be that the medical will happen in Chile and no doubt about it,all the pennies will have been accepted and its just a matter of signing the paperwork.
I`m still in the corner of "don`t care how much it costs (within reason),get it done now lads".

I wonder how much of it is (like the dippers) due to believing in their own hype. They are part of the old Sky 4, fawned over by the media, and feted as a giant of the game. The old 'Who wouldn't want to play for us, we've won the league 11 times' mentality runs deep in these cnuts. Personally I think they simply fail to grasp the point that modern day footballers ain't that interested in what teams have won in the past, but rather what they're likely to win in the future. They want to jump into a balloon basket with a roaring flame going and a blue sky destination, not one with a fucking great hole in it plummeting towards an electricity pylon
The fact that only a few weeks ago Wenger was saying that he was confident Sanchez would sign a new contract suggest that you're right, they're utterly deluded.

As it stands there is no return for Sanchez to Arsenal. Too much broken glass.
On the other hand City could do without Alexis this season using young players as well.
Given that City should normally reduce the next bid by 10m and so on as Arsenal simply has to sell and Sanchez only wants to City.

Problem is:
there must be some agreement between City and Alexis.
We cannot let him down now after him refusing Bayern and PSG.
But well, if you want quality you have to pay.

Regarding Raz:
I never was too convinced about him in terms of technical ability and finishing qualities.
But right now I can see his learning curve going up steep.
This is certainly not the time to say goodbye to Raz. No way.

One was on last night to slag off northern food in an attempt to deflect from the arsenal meltdown but not much else
At least he saw the funny side and was quite a good poster, accepting and taking the piss in good spirits.I know,as I gave him plenty and he kept coming back and giving plenty back to me.
Good Gunner for me that lad.

More annoying that a supposedly local paper is still pushing the story but not surprising considering they have fucking rag twats covering the City stories.

Robson is really just a cockroach and he shouldn't have anything to do with our clubs stories... Brennan seems conspicuous by his absence... probably the MUen keeping him away from actually doing more balanced reports.

Where have all the gooner posters they have all gone quiet! Ha!

Still here, It's hard to keep up when the thread is growing 100 pages every couple of hours lol.

I'm not going to hide just because Sanchez could get sold, when i've thought there was a chance he could get sold all summer. I'm also not hiding through the 'crisis', we've been in some form of 'crisis' over & over now, no point in hiding during this particular one.

Some Arsenal fans seem to think they are getting either Aguero or Sterling as part of the deal...quite worrying, wonder how disappointed they'll be when its just cash / Denayer or Sancho going.

Surely they aren't that gullible?

I can't wait for the "City have agreed a fee with Arsenal for Sanchez" reports. This has to be the most exciting transfer along with KDB and Aguero. Perhaps the most exciting? Since he is basically the best player in the PL.

And then watch the reaction of the footballing world. It's gonna be sweet. It has to happen any moment now.

Great to see pep supporting Sterling and just proves how corrupt the media is.

This will be a big boost for him and he's very much a confidence player.

In a bizarre way I'm as happy keeping sterling as the prospect of getting Sanchez!

The joys of being a city fan
