I'm going to this, first away game for a while too! The way we're playing at the moment, I can't wait!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but does anyone know the best pub near the ground for a few beers beforehand? I'll have a few hours to kill! Cheers

Depends what you are looking for, but if you like proper beer I'd recommend either:

The Black Eagle. Next to Soho Benson Road tram stop south of The Hawthorns, or...

The Vine, near Kendrick Park tram stop north of The Hawthorns. Does cracking curries & has an indoor tandoori grill.

If we are going to change our entire XI we could do something like:

Bravo

Danilo - Kompany - Tosin - Mangala

Bernardo - Gundogan - Foden

Brahim- Sterling - Sane

In practice, as much as I like Sane as a proper winger, he'd need to be a wing back in a rear 5 with that line up. Going from the attacking nature and crossing ability of Mendy to Mangala, who's very much a CB, would be a proper shock to the system.

so what that hes 17.... if hes good enough why does that matter.... rashford was 18, tom davies 18, wood burn 17. how are they meant to take there chance by getting no game time ??. pre season or coming on in the last ten minutes of a game ( throughout the whole season ) is not a chance and we will never get a young p-layer coming through. why not trust foden and give him the game ... what harm would it do

No harm.

But as I said Gundogan, Bernardo, Delph (DM), Yaya all need minutes. If they were all up to speed and fully match fit I would be ok with Foden starting but like this it just doesn't make any sense.

If Foden and Diaz are not going to start in this game they may as well have gone out on loan. Sane, Gundogan and Bernardo need the game time but not any other of our forward players so there should be room for the youngsters. Aguero, KdB and Dave definitely need a break and Delph can replace Dinho with Tosin and Mangala at CB. I wouldn't mind seeing Sane play as a striker in this one.
Foden and Diaz are way too young to go out on loan. Can't imagine there'd be a first team coach anywhere that would play them.

will look a weaken team and wba will be up for it and maybe play the first team so nothing can be looked into the result win or lose it will be players in the squad needing a game and miles away from first team players but maybe 2 or 3 will be on the bench but its a game that really we don't need or want this season

completely agree with that. i dont understand posters saying that either. foden and diaz are fantastic young players who could play amazing on wednesday. people seem scared of playing any youngsters.
Fully agree some want to play the same team as on Saturday. This nonsense of going head on for all four prizes is a non starter. We have to give the kids a chance and
this is the best time to do it. If they play well and contribute to a win it will bolster their confidence. If we loose (I believe WBA will rotate so we won't) then we can put it down to experience and move on to the big boys stuff. We must concentrate on the league and winning our group in Europe.

The way Foden played against the Rags and Diaz in the youths Euros I dare say there are a few particularly in Europe who might.

Thanks mate, do you reckon that's where most blues will be heading?

I understand that some of the supporters' coaches stop off at The Vine & it's very popular with home fans too.

Living not too far away, I'm doing it all by train & tram & heading with a fellow Blue to The Black Eagle. Cracking pint of Bathams bitter there which is my idea of nectar. Depending on your tastes you may feel it's too much of an "old man's pub" but feel free to join us!

I've mentioned it before but they will most likely go with a full side as they have a 5 day recovery (4.916 if you want to be a knob)

Appreciate the info mate. I'm going by train too and meeting my old man near the ground, he loves a bitter so we might head to the Eagle then.

Thanks again.
C'mon City!

I would agree if we had the draw the rags have but I suspect Pep will treat WBA with a degree of respect and will put a strong team out to win, which, IMO is the correct thing to do. He can do this with the depth we now have

They are a prem team and we are away,if pep wants to compete he will put out a strong team but if not he won't,luckily any b team is strong these days,i find this cup a irrelevance ,i want us to win the other 3,prem 1st,CL 2nd and FA cup 3rd
