Just a quick question, does anyone have any experience of dealing with the transfer of home ownership in a will?

Without going into too much detail, i am trying to understand if there are any costs associated with being left a % of a house after the death of a relative.

Can you be a bit more specific?

Was the person leaving the house the last survivor or did they leave a % but still have a living spouse?

You would be unlikely to pay any tax if that's what you mean unless the estate was above the IHT limit.

If IHT is due on the estate it has to be paid within 6 months and the executors cannot get probate until it is paid.
