Aguero injured after a car accident in the Netherlands

Let's look on the bright side - at least Bony isn't our backup striker.

Exactly, we have probably the best squad that we have ever had. There is no need for a meltdown, it's not a perfect situation, but life isn't always perfect. I would take our squad over anyone else's in the PL.

On another note, every time anything happens you get people on here asking "why is VK allowed to play for Belgium?" "Why is Aguero allowed out?" etc. Fucking hell, get a grip, they are people who have lives outside playing for City. They can't be kept locked in a room wrapped in cotton wool in between games.

Main thing is that he is ok, which is a huge relief

Other thought is that I sure do hope that he wasn't bunking off on the quiet

Very much expect the club gave him permission to attend the concert on what, on the face of it, seems an unusual night,

But imagine the fallout if they hadn't!

Why the fuck would he be over there and in a taxi at that time in the morning so close to a major game here???

No matter how people dress this up saying the players are allowed time off and have a life outside football, I'd be surprised if the club knew he was flying to the continent and getting back into his bed at 1am, 2 nights before the biggest game of the season. Thank god he's not seriously injured if reports are true, but I bet Pep is fuming

It's on his instagram ffs

The 2 month thing at the moment is made up bollocks. Its spread like wildfire.

UPDATE: Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero will be assessed by Club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday.

The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries.

He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at Chelsea.

Just like with the Mendy injury, far too many "doctors" especially on Twitter, with a fair share on here as well

I think the odds on it have lengthened considerably, yes, if only for the simple reason that we are now hugely reliant on Jesus staying fit. I'm not suggesting we're going to suddenly turn to rat shit, but this is the most competitive league in the world and it is extremely difficult to win the key games against your immediate rivals with your best players missing. The margins where we operate are finer than fine
Its early doors in the season and I'm sure all other teams will face a similar crisis. I think our plus is the depth we now have which IMO is better than our rivals. Too early for me to be thinking the league is now gone as some are implying

I don't think Sergio was playing from the start on Saturday anyway.

Jesus was in. Taken off on Tuesday.
He wasn't necessary in. I thought he was taken off because he wasn't playing very effectively on Tuesday. Jesus seemed to acknowledge last week he was likely to be playing second fiddle to Sergio and was happy with that.

Thankfully he's not seriously injured.
Looks like he'll be out for several weeks if it's a fractured rib.
Good job Jesus is rested and ready.
Sterling and Sane are chipping in with goals as well, and we probably wouldn't play away with 2 upfront anyway.
Even more reason to win, do it for Sergio!

Apart from exposing him to more minutes than we would have liked and increasing his risk of injury?

Football is a capricious beast. This is where we needed Sanchez to be part of the squad.
He's a footballer, I'm not going to worry about him having to play football matches. I actually think it will do him good to have a run of matches right at the front of the attack. We need to get tomorrow out of the way and clearly it would be nice to have Aguero available for such a big match but I am confident Jesus is capable of stepping in and causing them problems. The international break comes at a good time for us and the next three in the prem are Stoke, Burnley and WBA (I think) where we could play Sterling up front if necessary in one or two of those (think his pace and movement right up front would cause teams of that stature all sorts of problems). That would allow us to play Jesus in the Napoli match without him having to play a ridiculous amount of matches. And I don't care who he plays up front v Wolves, can throw a kid in for me. Not ideal but I think we will be fine.

It's a proper shit sandwich to wake up too, my main concern is the the length of time Jesus will stay injury free but our lack of cover for Mendy is Not good, those who think Delph is the answer to win the league or the champions league is in cuckoo land, for one he won't stay injury free anyway.
