Apparently it's not the right time to restart the debate about gun control according to the white house.
If the killer was a Muslim, they'd already be bombing somewhere in the Middle East and Trump would be writing executive orders banning Muslims from entering the US and throwing out Muslims who weren't born there.
If it was a Mexican, there'd be a huge push to start building his wall.
As it was a white American they won't even talk about the problem.

So far it seems he was Joe normal in all aspects of his life, reasonably well off, no strong political views or religious that anyone has found, no criminal record. It is very strange, usually there is something that gives the game away.

I do not care what the white house says it is time for debate and the people should force it, how dare the white house try to tell people when is a good time for a debate.

I'm not sure why there is so much shock about these incidents anymore. They happen with such regularity that it should be expected and accepted as part of a gun carrying 21st century culture.
Looking from outside-in the solution is simpler than simple....but in US society it appears more guns is the solution to a problem created by guns.

According to the NRA spokesman, apparently, guns actually save lives.

Can you just imagine the carnage at the Somme or Ypres if guns hadn't been involved?

If I had to guess I'd say it was related to gambling losses and a screw loose.

Sadly I think this is the closest we will get to a motive, but it's all too premeditated to take that many guns anywhere. Doesn't quite sit right with me

That was a kind of litmus test wasn't it for what America can stomach, i find it equally infuriating and repulsive. The apathy from many is very annoying to, for example some banker in NYC probably could not give 2 shits and they should because it is their responsibility.

Not a bad theory, there is a sticking point though i think. I hear he built up a huge arsenal of guns but it must have happened in a reasonably short time. His brother helped him move in and the weapons were not there then. To acquire these weapons is not cheap at all so the theory he was seeing his arse due to huge losses feels unlikely. This was something he possibly started planning a while back.
As an auditor it tells me he was methodical which is generally associated with being prepared and organized isn't it, the attack seems to back that up with a nod to his video surveillance and general preparation taken. Personally i think he simply went all Falling Down, just became at odds with the world and decided to go out like this.

Media will have sniffed around his financial life already to no doubt, if they found anything noteworthy they would have it all over their front pages now imo.

My question is when he started getting all these guns was it in his head then, further down the line and what was it that triggered it. The police need to focus on the time he started to buy the main bulk of these guns. Something happened, the woman who lives with him will know what that is, the idea nothing about him changed that someone close to him like that could not notice i find very unlikely.

Was she abroad for good reason i.e. he had started with erratic or otherwise strange behaviour that freaked her out? Had the lady who freaked out met him nights previously and gone back to his room (seen his setup) or was she just someone who is not all there/had to much drugs and drink? Someone said it before, there will be huge chunks of folk who will nod with respect hearing his name. He will get that infamy sadly and the hard core gun nuts will revere him to an extent. A small few will even look up to him.

Watched a woman who was there interviewed last night and said there was a woman at the front saying to people " you're all going to die tonight " she was removed by security
