Arsenal (H) Post Match Thread

Great performance - Arsenal came to have a go and for long periods matches us - but they don't look thratening enough and in the end Silva and Fernidinho bossed the midfield and that made the difference.

Attackers could have been more clinical and all were guilty of wasting a final pass on occasion - but the found the right finishes and passes in the end and hence the win.

Penalty was clear cut - as was the push on Sterling in the first half. Silva was just about onside, but it was very very tight - but on the basis that benefit if doubt should be given to the attackers it was fine - Arsenal should have played to the whistle.

My man of the match was Fernindinho - but could just as easily have been Silva.

Great result. Great win.
So proud of this young hungry team.
Takes balls to keep playing the way we do and hopefully we will get our rewards at the end of the season.
God I love u city.

Great performance and result after a very tough mid week game in Naples.

Couldn’t be prouder of the lads.

Not a particularly impressive performance, but another win. Every win is so crucial between now and January when we will hopefully buy 1 or 2 defenders to allow rotation of Delph and Stones/Otamendi.

Didn't really go our way with the officials today, but then you guys said similar at the semi final, so no real complaints.

The best team won, bottom line is we aren't good enough as a team without the ball to cope with you guys at your own ground. Protection for the defence an issue yet again.

Result isn't totally damaging for us, we certainly aren't good enough to compete for the title, but we are still in the mix for top 4, & played at Chelsea, Liverpool & City now, as well as Stoke & Everton where we struggled in the past. What we do need now is to win our next game vs Spurs at home though.

That would be nice if you did so yes please.

Otamendi is out if he was booked today.

Just heard Wenger post match - not a happy bunny "When you come to Manchester you do not get the right decisions, happens every year" -
what a wanker.

If I was an arsenal fan I would be pissed off playing with 9 men each week cos Ozil and Sanchez are just going through the motions .

No, you should be pissed off supporting such a soft team. Their weak mentality was the decisive factor today, once again -they were far superior in terms of energy yet failed to capitalise on this. Arsenal will rarely show up in critical situations, it has become a tradition for them. Thank God they have Arsene on their bench, there is no hope for Arsenal with him in charge, and intelligent Arsenal fans know it...

Make no mistake about it, Ozil is not the same player when he plays for Germany. Exactly because the national team has a different character -which naturally influences stuff such as self-belief, motivation etc. Whether they admit it or not, Ozil and his teammates are not convinced by Wenger's tactical ability (Arsenal were once again exposed today), not to mention the club's strategy, so deep down they do not believe in the team's strength. It's difficult to be inspired playing for Wenger, even if you do respect the man and his history. Only the mentally strong will show up regardless, but that's the exception to the rule. Always has been...

Good win.

De Bruyne goal put us in the lead. Not his best game with some incomplete passes. His standards are very high. I can certainly think of 2 where with a bit more luck & accuracy a striker would have been on on goal.

For me Fernandinho was man of the match. His work rate, how he links the defence to attack is a joy to behold.

Great welcome & presentation to Aguero. Delighted he got a goal today.

Gabriel Jesus needed game time. Again not his best performance but a goal & he keeps his unbeaten record going. His stats are very good.

The international break comes at the right time for us. Hopefully Delph recovery & others are rested.

In summary, not at our best but 3 points, 3 goals & we were able to rotate a little which gives the likes of Jesus, Gundogan & Bernardo much needed game time.

Didn’t we have a tarquin on last week telling us his team were not and will not be thuggish?
Six yellow cards and ozil lucky to escape a second one would dispute that.

But I don't support a weak team I support city , Ozil did nothing today in an Arsenal shirt and as someone has very wittily put Sanchez is playing for a premier league medal !!
