600+ apparently.Yeah but it'll only do five miles per charge
Every government will be giving them away to help with the environment600+ apparently.
Now that's sorted, there's just the small matter of the £200k+ you'll need to buy one, assuming they will be available at all in RH drive over here.

It won't do 600+ if you do ludicrous mode launches like that. Each launch uses approximately 2% of power.
The feeling you get when doing one can only be described as silent violence.

Wouldn't electric cars have a torque converter instead of a clutch ? Not something I've thought about before.I'm sure it won't, but some cars (can't remember which and can't be arsed to google it) would only allow 10 launch-control starts during the lifetime of the vehicle, or the clutch would be trashed. Let alone not managing more than 50 *per recharge*.

I think they should make rubber-powered ones with an enormous elastic band that you wind up. Then you wouldn't need to fuel or charge them at all. Genius.Still have to plug them in somewhere.
That used to be the case. All new model Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston, Porsche etc you can launch and launch and launch no problems.
While Tesla will probably only ever be a brand for a reasonably small group of people. The thing they have done is exploded myths and have forced the huge car companies to accept EV are better in every dept. The emergence of "Solid State" Magnesium and Graphine bassed batteries over the next 5 years will seal the deal. Once China gets it act together I expect EVs to be mainstream within 10 years. As a side note the roadster was a add on in that launch. The main event was actually about the Tesla "semi-truck" that is attempting to do the same thing. It looks impressive!
Can someone explain to me where this sudden emergence of electric vehicles will find places to plug into when they need a charge?

In truth, we can't yet tell what the dominant form will be, whether plug in, hydrogen fuel cell or something else. But with emergent technology this is always the case in advance - whoever would have guessed there'd be sufficient bandwidth for high density mobile Internet only 20 years ago?
Necessity is the mother of invention. It'll be fine.
It may well be fine for some but, for instance, millions of people live in terraced property with no chance of access to a charging point at home so where do they go to charge up?
