NAC Breda 2017/2018

Ouch. I hope this doesn't damage the confidence of our young players.

Is it all playoffs for promotion/relegation or are there automatic spots?

3-1 win today gets them out of the relegation spots. Ambrose scoring two penalties and Fernandes getting the third.

From trying to read their forums with google translate it seems -

- Manu Garcia was tried as a number 6 today to help them build better from the back - and it worked.
- They want Fernandes to start more games, though are concerned with the defensive side of his game.
- They really rate Angelino highly.
- Ambrose has been working hard but not getting enough goals.

Mohammed Aminu is joining NAC for a months training. Will be interesting to see if they keep him on after that.

He is the 17 year old wonderkid City signed from West African Football Academy - cost a couple of million.

If they kept playing like this they will get relegated.

Something needs to happen whether its changing their manager or City loaning them more players to help them stay up.

They lack leadership and experience, Pablo Mari arrives on loan and is made captain at 24. They should have a solid experienced Dutch base to which they add City talents - that isn't the case. They look like conceding at every corner. They must be in financial trouble to be completely lacking such a core.

As for giving them more players - at this stage of the season they certainly don't need any more of our untested youngsters, they need players that would be able to do a job straight away. Perhaps Yangel Herrera, Aleix Garcia or Douglas Luiz could help immediately but what they really need is a couple of experienced players.

Longer term I wonder if NAC could be added to CFG with an arrangement like at Girona. CFG could fund the core of Dutch players needed to compete near the top of the Eredivisie and supplement this with Citys young talents.
