Southampton Post Match Thread

Last few games mirroring last season creating loads of chances but failing to stick them away, and the sort of ruthlessness of attacking and pressing has dropped off,I wonder if we are having a sticky patch now but at the moment still winning, also nothing like a last min winner but we can’t keep relying on them it’s gonna catch up on us,I just hope we win on Sunday again maybe not at our best, make wholesale changes for Shakhtar and then the derby we get our mojo back with a bang...

It's results like tonight that push a team on and gives you a boost. We ground out a result on Sunday and tonight we wasn't firing fully but won. We was always going to hit a dip in form as we play high intensity football but these next few games is all about picking up points whatever way we can. Pep needs to rotate carefully for December.
Raheem Stirling he's top of the league.

Stadium Roof came off when he scored that goal

If it is repaired by Sunday - then if the ground held 65,000 - I am sure there would be a sell out on Sunday. - Many people want to see this team of
RECORD BREAKERS.....................

The mentality of this team! Superb goal from Sterling, It went absolutely crazy behind the goal with Ederson going batshit mental with us. The amount of points Sterlings goals have won us this season is ridiculous. Overall, we were actually quite poor tonight, didn't move the ball quickly enough and without our double pronged attack with two pacey wide men and two creators we're a lot easier to contain when there's only one of them on the pitch. The guys coming in aren't doing enough at the minute, Gundogan tonight wasn't much more than a passenger. and very disappointing. At the back, Vinny looked unusually nervy and Walker looked off the pace too. I can't remember who it was but for their goal the cross should never have been allowed to come in, it was piss poor defending. we're going to get teams playing like this for a while now, we need to step it up.

I wonder if he'll get a yellow card like sterling did vs Bournemouth...

Anyway I agree with what you've said... tonight was just one of them matches. No one played well but we dug in until the end and we got a reward at the end of it. I'm sure we'll perform a lot better vs West Ham.

Amazing goal. Raheem is some player now. Overall a poorish display but we still could have scored more. I think we all know what our best team is and it doesn't involve 2 strikers.

We keep scoring our winners late on but still the idiots in front of me leave on 80 mins. Will they ever learn?

Fuck 'em. I remember them cheering and jeering when Sergio got injured a couple seasons back. Here's a post from their post match thread.

"Sterling is a little scumbag, hope he suffers a career ending injury asap. Add de Bruyne to the list, hideous pigface boy. And as for the commentators who can't help wnk over everything City do - they've had cheat mode enabled for about 10 years now, but that's not a problem is it? Who cares?! "Man City showed their class", no they didn't, cvntface, they showed how fcking jammy they are and how much help they get from everybody."
Wow - what a well balanced review from an obvious lover of the beautiful game.

Yeah, December period is more about getting the points rather than matching it with performance levels, with the amount of games each team has to play.
