One of the main reasons the MEN is a commercial basket case is because of this sort of mindless clickbait. Over the years they have managed to alienate both City and United fans because of this sort of juvenile coverage. Most of the users of their website are overseas rags fans (and probably increasing numbers of non-local City fans) but its local readers they need so they can attract regional advertising revenue. Their mindless sports coverage is accelerating their demise.

Why do they need local advertising if the readership is global ? Demise locally maybe but a much bigger pool of advertisers to go after if the audience changes

I suppose there will be a flood of front page apologies now after Nathan’s twitter post from these single minded horrible little keyboard warriors.

There’s one lip reader who will shortly to be looking for retraining and a new job.
Although the Sun are now reporting Redmond's version they appear to be strongly implying that he's not telling the truth. Headline is "Nathan Redmond denies Pep Guardiola called him a w****r, despite expert lipreader’s claims", then they go on about the credentials of the lipreader leaving Redmond's statement to the bottom of the report. Wankers.

I think some of the stuff about Pep deserving to be banned is absokutfly scandalous and hilarious, but I also think that generalizing the media as has been done by some City fans doesn't help either.

In terms of the media this season we've had nothing but praise - in fact I can't ever remember a team being so widely praised by the media ever.

TBH if City keep this up, they will become the main selling point for the 'product' & start to receive similar treatment to the rags.

I had to read through hours of documents yesterday, & had Sky Sports News on in the background. Even I got sick of hearing about City.

Of course they all want the rags back & to win the derby, but if City keep this up, it's going to change. They are already preparing for it, in case the rags & scousers can't get to where they want them to be.

The sun must have a huge legal department to enable it to function the way it does on blatant lies and fabrication, they are good at what they do.

Last week the Times had articles complimentary to City on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday including two DPS.

On Sky Sunday Supplement a couple of weeks back when they were discussing City's coverage by the media, Martin Samuel suggested that the club's media department were very quick to react to articles that they didn't approve of, even if it was only a matter of how far down the article appeared. If the club are that concerned with our media image surely it's now time for them to inform the Sun that they are no longer welcome at The Etihad.

Now would be the near perfect time to announce a Guardiola contract extension, perfect of course being after a derby win. Nice Christmas present for blues as well :)

I can't see anything wrong with that tbh.

Just this " thrust an arm around Redmond’s neck and then jabbed him in the chest" makes it sound like he was assaulting him, which couldn't be further from the truth. I suggest Ducker has never played sport in his life given his interpretation of the exchange between Pep and Redmond.

Pep is an enthusiastic, passionate and engaging character who's love of the game is there for all to see. Mourinho on the other hand seems an arrogant, devious and joyless individual who gives the impression managing a football club at the highest level is an unwanted chore.

However, the bias of the media in this country see's Pep Guardiola get much more negative press than the sly eye gouger ever will. Balanced, sensible and unbiased reporters like Martin Samuel seem to be a dying breed replaced by shallow drone's driven by personal bias with an insatiable need to appeal to the mindless masses (ie Rags). Anyone with half a brain can see through this and any praise we receive is through gritted teeth while they bide their agenda driven need to criticize, unstable and in some cases report downright lies.

They are hurting, BAD.

I noticed a hatchet job from that uber **** Ladyman on Pep last night on still wanting him to get a ban. Seems to have vanished off the mail's webpage. There's already one off the other **** Lawton too.

Fair play we have had some smoke blown up our backsides recently , but imagine if that was the Rags or Dippers who had 19 straight wins and the best start ever to a Premier league season , there would be OBE's , MBE's, Knighthoods and a public holiday , the praise is given grudgingly because the media know which side their bread is buttered , they cannot wait for the first slip up to feed the hordes of Rags who click their articles. Treat the praise and criticism with with equal amounts of suspicion ,and if we do some how manage to lose the derby game just wait for the avalanche of bullshit about the reborn Rags.
