CL draw - Basel

I bet all the Rag twats are in uproar about us drawing Basel. No doubt they will claim UEFA is corrupt and wants us to win the CL.

Sky are saying that we've gone from 5th favourites to 2nd as a result of the draw. I looked on bet365 last week and psg were favourites with us 2nd.
Surely the bookies don't vary THAT much.

We were second favourites at 9/2 beforehand on odds checker.

Went to St Jacob Park with England a few years back. It's a decent ground, quite atmospheric so it'll be a good away trip. Was quite expensive for a beer though from what I remember.

Agree with this. 3 pens against us in 2 games, is it now? Plus the fact that every single small decision goes against us, no wonder Kev got booked for dissent. I know the standard of UEFA referees is an abomination, but this guy is a disgrace. Same can be said of that Turkish referee. No such thing as an easy draw when you’re playing against 12 men.

Few questions as I'm debating whether to do this one.

What do we reckon points wise? Wife got just over 14500, I've got just under.

How does the draw work in the quarter finals? Is there any way of knowing whether we'll be home or away 1st/2nd leg? Just asking because we can't do the 3rd or 4th April which is when the 1st legs are to be played.

Wondering whether to wait and see if we navigate this round safely and do the Quarter final away game instead. Can't afford to do both and a semi final/final (providing we got tickets) are a must whether we can afford it or not.

And Basel are definitely weaker this season. The match at St. Jakob park will be more challenging but I still expect City to cut through them like butter. They are a sister club to FC Barcelona and have a wonderful academy that produces young talents regularly. Club enjoys great support from the locals but they are not unrealistic in terms of the prospects of presenting too much of a challenge for Manchester City.

For those who travel, stadium has good access by trains - don't think of parking nearby due to the crazy traffic. Fans are passionate but friendly and with great sportsmanship. They will surely hope to leave a good impression against City but I do not see any chance of an upset in either leg. Might actually be too easy of a draw
