Spurs (H) Post Match Thread

Firstly we were so much better than Spurs without being at our absolute best, they pressed well but Napoli did it much better technically, positionally and without help from the ref.

I have to say though there must have a been a clear directive from the coaching team in Spurs to kick lumps out of us at half time and the ref was way way too slow to pick up on it, he let too many fouls they were making go which allowed them back into the game unfairly at 1-0. Kane could have been sent off, Ali should definitely have been sent off and it seemed as soon as Kev made it too the ref decided the game was gone and started officiating properly from that point on.

Rewound to the moment just after that **** Alli's stamp on Kev...

Haha brilliant. That’s exactky what it felt like.

Spurs were rubbish, if they managed to look ok in patches I think it was largely our fault. We were pretty naff in the closing down at points but they still got penned in and messed up - and we occasionally downright off balance defensively but they didn't threaten.

Ederson's long passes made mincemeat of their high press, and the time of the goal (another unmarked header, another loose ball below head height in front of goal) sealed it for us tactically.

Once they were beaten, they caved in like a meringue. Once again, it should have been 6. Someone will get it together in Europe and give us a real scare, but the top 6 looks pretty average apart from us.

De Bruyne could beat them on his own.

Destroyed Spurs, forced errors all over the pitch,KDB was magnificent,Mangala for me was superb and all this without Merlin.
It’s frightening how good this team is and when we really click it could be double figures against a PL team.

Am I the only one happy that they finished with 11 men so that they dont begin to get the excuses out?

At half time I thought well done to Spurs as they at least gave it a go against us and I was impressed with that but the 2nd half changed my mind. The challenges from Kane and Alli were despicable, particularly the one from Alli. Anyone who has played football to a decent level knows that challenge was a pre-meditated attempt at deliberately injuring an opponent to a serious degree. I think both Alli and Kane were booked so both tackles won't be investigated further. The law is an ass !

Sadly for Alli, KDB, who had already run the game, took that challenge as an affront and played like a man possessed after that and went on to deservedly win the game for us.

Thought today might be a struggle but we were utterly magficent despite absentees in crucial areas. Pep has the squad working as one and it's fantastic to watch.

Thought this would be our toughest game of the season. Piece of piss.

Deli alli you are disgraceful..you nearly ended de Bruynes career. Well done city..you were magnificent.
F*ck Dele ali- leg breaker that tackle - disgraceful as Stevieblue says. Then KDB got on with the game steamrollered through midfield took a pass and "SMASHED IT" into the net.
Best game of the season for me. City are BRILLIANT.........

PS. Kane could easily have ended Raheem's career as well with that tackle.

I feel spoiled watching this team. Can't say another club I've ever thought that about. You are going to remember this team when you are old and in your rocker at the old folks home.
