Sergio Aguero - 2017/18 performances

I think he's miffed. rightly so, he's twice the player Jesus is at this time. Jesus is the future, we should be milking Aguero whilst we have him.

Jesus made us twice the team when he came on during Saturday's match. The parity Spurs had found in the second half completely disappeared, Jesus' ability to drop into midfield stopped Dembele's attempts to do a hatchet job on KDB and facilitated him taking over the game - in pretty much every highlight of KDB in the second half, Jesus is involved.

Aguero had a decent game, but he was not doing what the team needed him to do to win the game, and he's playing with an injury. He's got no right to be miffed when the managers decision was so clearly the right one.

Aguero will get plenty of games and plenty of opportunities to score. He's currently probably Pep's preferred choice, as shown from the fact he's started 5 of the last 6 league games, but he's not the only option anymore and throwing his gloves on the ground isn't going to make Jesus go away.

sergio seems frustrated ,is he frustrated because the team are reaching levels he cant keep up with ?or struggling to keep up with
jesus presses like a mad man,its what the manager wants, theres no doubting sergios talent in front of goal but if hes in the team and the team aren't quite up there and they are when jesus is on then sergio has to accept he will be the back up or up his game and fight for his place.

He will leave as a three time league winner and our all time scorer. Deserves a statue. That said, if above tweet is true, we will be able to replace ably in the summer, imo.

The odd one? Aguero has missed plenty for club and country. A few will comment about his movement because it isn't as good as Jesus. I have been reading today that Aguero is playing with an injury and will probably explain why he looks laboured when playing. If that is the case I would rest him a few games to get back to match sharpness as Jesus is more than capable to lead the line. The games last year we played Sane Sterling Jesus were frightening at times.

If he was carrying a slight knock,he wouldn't be considered,I call bollocks on that one,if there is a slight strain/hurt surely it will be from the car crash incident as I thought he came back a lot sooner than expected

But each to their own Tom,you are in the camp of not arsed if he was to leave then ?

he is greedy but he wants to impress.
Jesus was crap against utd and crap on Saturday. aguero was outstanding at swansea albeit a little greedy as you say.

even the best managers get it wrong sometimes.

I thought Aguero cost us about three goals against Swansea.

As I said, before rib injury was the best I've seen him, he was still Sergio but was doing what the team needed too.

His confidence is obviously low and he's playing for himself. No doubt in a natural attempt to regain his confidence.

Jesus was very good at Old Trafford, he was excellent when he came on Saturday.
Off the ball is as key in the way we play.

I don't even think Aguero's mum would agree that Guardiola got Jesus for Aguero wrong Saturday.
It changed game.

he has every right. he wants to play. I also reckon Pep would not be best pleased if he was anything other than miffed.

Pep will sell him though and bring in Sanchez and football will piss their sides.

Wanting to play doesn't give you the right to be annoyed or show dissent because you're subbed off and the team goes on to dominate the match.

Lets not forget Aguero has scored 2 goals in open play since September, and one of them against Swansea midweek when his desperation for a goal cost us several others with some selfish play.

If he was banging in the goals he might have an argument to stay on, but he's not.

Well if he has to have that mentality,I'd be off if I was him,but I sincerely hope to God he doesn't have that in his thoughts, having 1 striker for rest of season we will struggle, because let's face it here,if the unthinkable did happen,we get minimum of 80m for him, that would have to be re invested, the lot....on who ?.....and when ?

I meant the one two weeks ago.

Somethings not right. Whether it is something to do with this problem with his foot that's been troubling him since August or that he just isn't happy with his role in the side?? For me, he hasn't looked nowhere near his best for a good while now, yes, he's been scoring his share of goals, but he's been missing a few more than normal and been taking one too many touches when in a goal scoring position. I don't know,,the guys an absolute legend and one of our greatest ever players but his body language is just telling me he isn't fully at the races. Hope he plays on Saturday and goes goal mad and shows us exactly why we all love him! CTID.

just read above he has an injury, maybe the frustration is he wants to do it but cant because of the injury ,he hasn't caused us a minutes problems and he could of had his pick of any top club ,id give him a week or two off get him 100% because inside sergio is still a beast.

I would be arsed, I love him I just wish he could consistently do the pressing side of his game more to make it a no brainer to stay. I just think his movement this season hasn't been great.

I presume Sergio maintains a bucketload of credit with the fanbase, people will be patient enough with him to give him the chance to fit in better with the new system, he's quite loved afterall. Loyalty is also a word that shouldn't be used to lightly with him, i believe that many would recognise that him choosing to play for us and stay so long really did a lot for the growth of our team, and i presume a lot of the fanbase would like to show some of that loyalty back. Otoh it's also obvious that jesus is really a perfect fit for our style and very talented, the future indeed, he will need regular playing time, we will need to rotate often between him and Sergio, good thing is that we can do that based on form, and that it can also mitigate some of Sergio's injury-proneness. I presume Sergio will also be a perfect fit as tutor to Jesus.

I say we should take plenty of time to see how things evolve, strikers often have moments where they dip in form, and i presume Sergio is still willing to fight for his position here at City.

had we left him on v spurs he would have bagged a hat trick as spurs tired.
Possibly, but had we left him on, they may have continued to get forward, and may have equalised, who knows how it would have gone from that point ?

Jesus wasn't great on Saturday, but his work rate prevented them getting out of defence, something Aguero had done in the first half, but had stopped doing in the second.

The fact is they are our only 2 strikers, so have to be rotated anyway, if Aguero didn't like being subbed, he needs to look at why it happened, he can control that himself.
