Newcastle post match thread

I was watching the game with a Liverpool fan, and he was just moaning about it being boring, and while it was hardly end to end stuff, the way we closed down any potential threat was a joy to watch, I'm still a bit croaky from 2 weeks ago after shouting at my under 9's all game, I was telling my son to watch how City pressure the opposition into making mistakes, this is the reason I was yelling "pressure" at them! And while I'm no Pep, it's simple things like this that can make a big difference in games.

I guess for a neutral it's all a bit boring. For us it's brilliant!

Most important win of the season for me today. My grandad died this morning, a big blue from Ardwick who brought me up well.

Played City knew you wudnt let us down..

I’m sure Grandad is up there with Joe Malcolm and all the other blues, including my old fela, watching as proud as fuck of the mighty blues RiP Grandad

We can only play what is before us - as a neutral I thoroughly enjoyed the second half of Arsenal v Liverpool - but the reason it was such fun is that neither can defend. This City team is so composed - even when we finally let Newcastle have the ball for the last 15 minutes they didn't create a clear cut chance. It would have been great if we could have turned our dominance into some more goals - but it just didn't happen - I think De Bruyne's miss was the only glaring opportunity - otherwise there were a couple of good saves' and lots of blocks and near misses.

At some point we will pay for missing so many opportunities - but Newcastle just don't have the quality to take advantage and so on we go.

Not sure how anyone can have anything negative to say about tonight. Even with 11 men behind the ball we still created more than enough chances to be three or four up. Once it got to 70 mins and we failed to kill of the game it was always going to be a slog.

Really hope we can win the next two games and beat Bayerns record for most consecutive wins in the top five leagues.

Zaha does have a bit of quality though ;) - he can make teams pay.

No major mention we are on this run with probably only Walker as the first choice defender from the start of the season. We have the best defense in the league. Otamendi has been our best defender this season to date and Delph has been excellent.
