I have been thinking and this came to mind what if we still get a world class younger partner for Stones and use otamendi as a defensive mid. He has been doing well when he moves the ball up. If there is an injury stick him back in defence that would fernandiho a rest.

Im staggered that we could even be thinking about signing this player i really am and its split in equal terms between him being a rag and shit but if Pep wants him and thinks he can do a job then who am i to argue?

Trust in Pep, if he wants Evans, then thats good enough for me.
He can’t be any worse than Mangala, who is a complete liability. We need to get shot of him asap, but need a ‘back up CB’ (see how many games Managala has played recently).
We will also need a new No3 CB in the summer to replace Kompany, and provide competition/cover for Stones and Otamendi - this will be the ‘elite’ signing (stil think it will be Alderwereld personally as he enters the last year of his contract) - then Evans drops to No4

Agreed. Looks like he will be coming in as 4th choice, then summer is when we sign a replacement for VK / Mangala who can push for a starting spot I assume.
