NFL Playoffs 2017

Been following the Pats since 85 and all there Superbowl wins seem to have been really close. Its just like Gillingham & QPR again- not surprising Ive been on blood pressure tablets for nearly 20 yrs! Why is my teams never do anything the easy way?

One of the jokes about Pats fans is 90 per cent of them started following the team after they beat the Rams. Guess you could say the same thing about American City fans.... The NFL has changed in so many ways. Franchises move around like covered wagons. I live in Portland, Or and a large number of people follow the Seahawks but a large number hate them too. You rarely find a franchise which consistently does it the easy way, since injuries and coaching turnover is such a major problem. You usually have a dynasty that dominates every decade. The Steelers in the Seventies. The Niners in the Eighties. The Cowboys in the Ninties. And now the Pats. I lost a lot of respect for the league when San Diego moved. I've lived in that town and I can promise you their fans were as passionate as any City fans are. The franchise goes back to the beginning of the AFL and the revolution of the modern offense in Sid Gillman. The league is just about money now and it is turning a lot of Americans off. I much prefer baseball and 'futbol.'

That was a dumb move.

I was knackered and thought that they had blown it earlier when they were 1st and 10 with four downs and Brady got sacked twice.
I thought kicking the field goal was a bad idea.
TBH, I was watching Goliath and just switched the game on around 9:40pm when the wife went up to bed.
Just watching the highlights now. Didn't realise it went into O.T.

Alex is like me, we both started following the Pats after we hammered by the Bears, it was my first season following the sport and I needed a team, I went for the underdogs in that SB and stuck with them, like City have come good.

The gripes you have with the game, about franchising we in the UK, dont understand how it can happen at all and those about money are echoed is quite a few sports these days, in many ways money makes things better, better stadiums, better coverage of the sport on TV and in the media, but its less about the real fans, who are treated more like customers and just a number for the money men, than the soul of the sport.

You were tired, what do you think us UK fans were like?? Great drama though and I was buzzing for a while afterwards, at HT I didnt think I would make it through as it was looking so one sided and Lady Gaga was a bit tat, but somehow I managed to stay awake until the 4th quarter and then it got good, woke me right up ;-)

watched it this morning and cant believe how much Atlanta blew that. 28-20 with 4 minutes to go, in field goal range and Ryan gets sacked and then a holding penalty putting them out of field goal range. Wow, run the ball and the clock, kick the field goal and you are superbowl champions.

So many turning points in that last half of the 4th quarter. I went to sleep at half time assuming the Falcons had it won but fair play to the Patriots for that comeback albeit the Falcons didn't help themselves a couple of times.

It was an incredible turnaround. Like you, i turned off at god knows what time thinking it was all over. Couldnt quite believe the score when i woke up as Brady looked like he couldnt pass wind in those first 3 quaters.

Who gives a shit.
To quote the spoof letter from the UK to the USA, currently being attributed to John Cleese:
17.You should stop playing American "football." The 2.1 percent of you who realise there is a world beyond your borders may have noticed no one else plays " American" football. There is only one kind of proper football; you call it "soccer". At first you should try it by playing against the girls. Those of you brave enough will, in time, will be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American "football", but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies).

Ahhhh the ignorant and uninformed.

Loved the buffalo players and fans reaction to the bengals TD, like their aguero moment.

Was great, wasn't it. To be honest though, the AFC is in a right mess and the NFC playoff games look far more competitive. I think the Patriots will get beat at some point too.

Huge shock last night as Tennessee beat Kansas City at Arrowhead

And the unfancied Falcons win away in LA although I thought the Rams wouldn't go far.

You can't help thinking that Brady will find a way to get the Patriots across the line again but as an Eagles fan for many a year I hope they can make some inroads into the play offs this year although without our Quarter Back I don't fancy we will.
