City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

We never had 2 trips
We would have if we'd won. Maybe people could only afford one and wanted to save their money for the final. There's no compulsion to attend games and, let's be honest, the League Cup - with its weakened teams and bad timing - is generally the lowest on ever fans list of priorities.

I'm fed up with so-called City fans telling others how to spend their money or their time.

I wasn't telling them how to spend there money I was merely pointing out the arrogance of fans assuming we'd beat Arsenal and get through to the final.

And I was pointing out that it might well not have been arrogance but the fact that maybe a family of 4 couldn't afford 2 lots of travel, tickets and food & took the chance that we would win, rather than assuming we would. You appear to have a particularly dismissive attitude towards people who don't have your resources or share your outlook.

the fa cup games was a £10 for adults and £1 for kids, It was 3pm on a Saturday. It has never bothered me with the empty seats jibe because i go to watch my team, if it was only me and my lad there I wouldn't care. The club must be happy with amount of fans going to the cup games 1, they aren't advertised everywhere 2, they aren't compulsory with your season ticket. Maybe adding the group stages of the champions league to our seasoncard would be a better idea. They are guaranteed fixtures, where as we are waiting for the cup draws.

Agree that group stage champs league games should be included in season ticket cost

Your point doesn't add up a family of 4 didn't have to fork out as we didn't get there do you not comprehend my point it was nothing to do with going twice it was the were going to get to the final so I won't bother with the semis, you sound upset about it have I touched a nerve

have you never heard of financial planning? I think for many the decision was "well, we can't afford to do both so we'll miss the semi in the hope we get to the final, rather than do the semi knowing we would then miss out on the final".

We sold all tickets for Wembley and have done each time so it’s a bit of a red herring for me. Fact is wed’ve shifted more tickets last night playing the rags and would most likely have done if it was the second leg with all to play for. There are plenty of blues who could’ve gone last night without bit causing poverty. For me it’s the quality of the opposition and the thought process that the game is simply a forgone conclusion. The tenacity of Bristol proved that that was a flawed thought process!

Personally i'd love to attend more games, unfortunately i have a job which prevents that from happening.I know of half a dozen other Blues who work alongside me who would also attend more frequently given the chance.

There are many reasons for none attendance,so in regards this topic.....no one has the right to judge others.

sit back. plan your Wembley day out. enjoy their pain and desperation.

Nice to read a good post on here instead of all these doom merchants. We sold out a few days ago at home to Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup and every league game is basically sold out. Yet we don't sell out for the Carabao Cup and hysteria ensues and the world is about to end......haha!!!!!!. Not to mention that it's the 4th home game in 10 days....it's a lot of money after the holidays.

Why are people trying to justify not attending the game, no need whatsoever as we simply don't have the fan base to fill the stadium on occasions such as last night. We have an incredible loyal support but we must remember we lost a complete generation of fans during the GPC reign and it will take another generation to make it up.
We are getting there and I'm hoping the club also understands this regarding ticket pricing.

Yep, everything we've always slagged the rats down the road for.

Edit, not sure if you mean its compulsory to buy them, or they come free with your season card.
as part of your season ticket, like a mid week league game that can be sold on the ticket exchange for those who cant make it with no threats of losing your ticket for big games /applying for away tickets

Do agree that it will take another generation with City winning things. Think part of the problem is that in general we have to set of fans. I am not having a go at (either side by the way). The ones who have in general being going for years, seen City win things but also see us go up and down the leagues, don't really care about empty seats and the rest of City bingo jibes. And then you have fans who have been only watching City in the last 10 years or so (my son included in that) watching City win things regularly .who live on social media and take things like this as a slight on the club. I think that the club are trying to do the right things with the family days and kids for a quid in the cups.

If you're suggesting that people should attend every game regardless of their circumstances, be that travel, finances or whatever, then we ain't friends I'm afraid.
Your missing my point m8 i wasn't saying everyone has to attend every game i was merely pointing out last year posters were saying I'm not going to the semis I'm saving my money for the final, assuming we would beat Arsenal and get there can you understand what I'm saying or are you brain dead.It was the arrogance of some posters not if they could afford it or not,are you sure your user name shouldn't be Prestwich mental hospital
