I suspect the result of the Liverpool game later will change people's opinions on this one way or another.
Nah. TBH I suspect we will lose today but I still wouldn't want us to blow our pay structure to bits for a 29 year old who has been in poor form. If we get him on our terms then great, let's see how much he adds to our team. But if united get him on 400k a week I am fine with that. They have plenty of decent players already and they're still no great shakes, I genuinely don't see throwing one more in to the mix being a game changer, especially when we know that in an ideal world he'd rather be playing for Pep.

I'm not sure there's any point playing Liverpool today with all this speculation hanging over us. :-( is it too late to cancel the bus so at least the lads can have a lie in?

It's hard to see how we could pay £400k a week in wages without our entire wage structure spiralling out of control. We have other players who are much more important to us than Sanchez would be and we cant justify giving him that much and not the others. Guess United only really have Pogba and De Gea who they would be truly worried about pissing off. I suspect Real will go for De Gea again in the summer anyway.

I'm with you on this Ric....we got to always be one step ahead of the pack, if we want to stay on top. Very rare a forward of his talent becomes available for such a low price! Feeling like Alves all over again. Genuine question....Do you feel we got "too" confident in this transfer? Expecting the "Pep factor" to trump the money on offer. Feels like we tried to get to clever thinking he coming on a free and allowed Rags to jump ahead (if rumours are true!)

Hope we're not getting complacent again. We made the same mistakes in 2012 and 2014 missing out on the likes of Hazard, RVP and Alexis then to United/Chelsea/Arsenal and making cheap buys.

It's better to buy from a position of strength. It's what kept United at the top.

If arsenal are offered 20m and 35m it's a no brainer which one they go for.
If gabby was out for the season I think we'd fight it but he's back soon so it's a case of oh well never mind.
Shows how far the tide has turned between us and them lot.
We used to be desperate and throw ridiculous amounts of money at players.
Now we wear the trousers and can say take it or leave it.
I find it absolutely hilarious that utd are so desperate.
As you were.
