We're going around in circles and it seems like you're missing my point.

I don't blame City for walking away when Sanchez changed his demands on a previously agreed deal. I've never said that I had a problem with that.

Where some blame can possible lie is the fact that we overplayed our hand in trying to force Arsenal into a reduced fee. The noises that we were happy to wait until the summer allowed United to jump in and offer more lucrative terms. If we would have bid £30 million at the start of the window then there is a good chance that we would have got Sanchez for the agreed terms.

That is the point I made and it looks like on two occasions players have slipped from our grasp to go to another side on better terms at the last minute.

I understand what you are saying. It is just that I believe Sanchez agreed to wait for us until the summer, deal agreed in principal, sanchez giving his word to Pep. Because we have released a statement saying Sanchez strongly indicated we were his choice. The injury to Jesus made us look to him this month and all of a sudden Sanchez and his agent decide they want better terms

Got nothing to do with throwing 30m at arsenal. Sanchez and his agent are the issue in all this

After what he said about you as well! Never had you down as the forgiving type. ;)

U23s?....nice one I hope they get relegated they are currently 2nd bottom of PL2 Div 1

Correct. It's still nice beating them though. We do seem to have a couple of good youngsters. I hope they get through to the first team. Home grown players have an affection for the club which fans love. Which is why we all love Jack Wilshere.

Balague has basically just said that we are not prepared to be held to ransom over the wages. United willing to make sanchez the 4th best payed footballer on the planet

They can have him
Unbelievable, yet sections of the media will hail the rags for outbidding us,would love to see the reaction if he changed his mind and told the rags forget it..

I still think United would have got involved even if we offered £30 Million +.

They possibly would have and we could have quite easily have had the same outcome as we have now. Yet I still think we could have done more but I can understand why the club made the decisions it did. Hopefully we can learn a lesson from this.

The really shocking thing is that over on the Caf they are laughing off any interest that Chelsea may have in Sanchez.

Not because of anything to do with footballing reasons but because of wages, they are basing this on Hazard being their top earner on around £200k a week.

They are laughing that Chelsea won't pay the money Sanchez wants as it is nearly double that figure at approx £350 -£400k per week.

They believe they have won Sanchez's heart and that he has chosen them, the real reason is that none else is even considering going near the figures quoted.
They believe we’re lying about being unwilling to pay up and trying to save face because AS has simply chosen them over us. Arse holes.

It's called duel representation and the majority of the time the player won't pay the agent a cent....as the club pay it....all the player is responsible for is the tax on the 5% of the final year of the contract that is the agents fee....in the tax mans eyes it's classed as a benefit in kind for services rendered...so basically if the player earns £12,000,000 he is responsible to pay tax on £600,000 which will be the agents fee

But in big transfer deals the Agent will ask the club for a big fee as in this deal if we're to believed is £5mil

Its the players agent. And the agent is obliged to do what's best for his client, not what's best for his own pocket. When an agent makes more money with the fee he gets from the club than the money he gets as "tax" from the player it becomes a problem I think.

We should be the last club having a pop at players for joining clubs for more money.
Lol have to agree..we've done it for years, our fans calling players mercenaries and taking the moral high ground is a bit silly,It's the way the world works and we especially 2008 to 2012/13 took advantage of this more than anyone ..i do love pep and the club's stance about not going over what was already allegedly agreed with Sanchez.
It seems pep wants players who are fully committed to us as he thought Sanchez was.
By him negotiating more with United and then trying to get more out of us because of this we have backed out.
I love that and fully back Pep/city on this.
We will be fine,we will regroup and target some one else in the summer.

He clearly doesn't want to play for United otherwise he would have surely signed by now. I wouldn't be surprised if the greedy little shit stayed and went on a free in the summer. In two weeks he's worth nothing to Arsenal. So can then start a bidding war and go to the highest bidder. Surely he has got to be the most mercenary greedy footballer of all time. Glad we backed out. Wonder if he will get the same media pundit witch hunt that Sterling got?

I wouldn't write off Chelsea in getting Sanchez as Man Yoo fans seem to be. Assuming they are not too far apart on the money, staying in London must be attractive to Sanchez.

The message we've put out isn't just to Sanchez. It's to Alves and all the other greedy fucks and their agents. We've moved on from Robinho, Santa Cruz etc where we could be milked because of our status at the time. It's a privilege to play for us now and if you are lucky enough to strike a deal, you fucking stick to it or adious.
I agree with the sentiment, but 99.9% won’t give to fucks and will go to whoever pays the most money, the romantic notion of players playing for less is dying a death it’s all about money now..

I agree, it will hopefully be a warning to other players who say they want to come and be part of this team and so on. We may have money(players, clubs and agents all do very well when we do business we're not tight with it) but there's a limit to the amount of piss taking we will put up with, we've earned some respect now we've arrived.

We shouldn't be hypocrites, we understand why they are spending but we can call united fans out for being hypocrites now and enjoy a told you so moment. It's also annoying that they already have the highest wage bill and now offer this deal... yet what is the general tone in the press about it? Are they ruining football? Or just doing what they think they need to do to try and catch up? It's exactly what we did yet they predictably get a "earned it" pass by all these pro united media hacks. False morals and all full of shit.

I'm more bothered about whether offering him too much for 3 years helps us or hurts us more in the long run than any of the "good of the game" lark I don't see many City fans saying that either it's about what best for the club. He's good but so much can happen, players emerge all the time these days.

You don’t even remember what we were debating do you. All I said is that I’m not so sure Sanchez will be finished at the age of 32. You seem to be sure he will be. I’m not so sure. Don’t see how either of us is right or wrong. Time will tell.

A lot of high energy forwards are in the prem. Time will tell.

Exactly.

I didn't give two shits what other fans, journalist or pundits thought when we were outspending sides and bringing in the likes of Tevez, Toure and Silva etc. Just like no United fan will give a shit right now either.

It's funny because is seems like our positions are now reversed in the sense that we can offer the better chance of success than they can and they need to offer more money. However, the way their fans responded to us all those years ago was hypocritical and laughable and it looks like some Blues are going the same way.

Of course it is. John Cross in the Mirror who is close to Arsenal alluded to this the other day and said Sanchez is all about the money.
