What I find strange is we buy Bony for £27m yet won't get Sanchez for £35m and allow a rival to strengthen can only assume we are buying big but when?

We can't stop United from strengthening. We could turn our wage structure on its head and risk damaging the team spirit to accomodate this one player or we can walk away and move onto potentially bigger and better targets in the summer. I can't see him changing their fortunes much this season anyway and then he turns 30 next season. If they miss out on Sanchez now everyone on here will be bricking it when they go all out for Griezmann or Dybala in there summer. Just trust the club to get on with things. Our transfer dealings on the whole have been great these past couple of years. I wish people would stop bringing transfers that happened 4 years ago into the argument as a means of undermining the decisions we're making now. We have a way we like to work and we're not going to go down united's route of being completely reactionary in our transfer policy.
