Everyone is entitled to a view and you have as much right to defend it, even if its not a thrilling one(lets face it who gets excited about signing a 4th choice defender!).No idea what the price is going to be yet but I definitely hope it'd be not much more than £20m. And again, I know it looks like I'm overly defending this transfer (when it doesn't excite me at all) but Im just shocked at how OTT the reaction has been by some and how little nous they seem to credit our board with.
I would say I think it's slightly oversimplistic to look at that as being double what West Bromwich paid for him though. £20m now buys you what £10m would have got you 4 years ago.
That's pretty much my view too. Didn't want him in the summer, but Pep has plenty of credit in the tank due to our position in the league so I'm more than happy to trust his judgement on this one. I just don't see it as a transfer worth getting worked up about either way really, but some people seem to love a bit of melodrama in their lives.Ill be honest,I dint want Evans when it first came out,but if Pep thinks he can do a job,so be it.
Once he puts that shirt on,I'm right behind him,not fucked if he's played for the rags,we've had em before.
You make a valid point.saf was the most successful manager of all time in the UK but that didn't make Ralph Milne a good footballer
Did you miss the previous 10 years of Jonny Fucking Evans, as well as this season ?
Look, IF Pep wants him, then of course, the fact that the guy is a genius, softens the blow of us signing a defender who has been fairly shit this season & most of the past 10 years.
Maybe Pep sees a particular quality in him & can make something out of him that suits his system.
He will have to, as the evidence suggests JFE is fucking shite.
I can't speak for you, but I would hope he is I, but I did think Ralph Milne was shit so does it make me better than saf!You make a valid point.
Another valid point is that our manager is almost certainly a better judge of a player than you or I.

So shit he’s got a champions league winner’s medal, 3 premier leagues, 2 league cups.....if you want to name a player who the evidence says is shit we need look no further than Mangala.
Would the view of Evans be different if he hadn’t played for the rags?
The idea that he was in anyway integral to their success is laughable.Would Phil Jones be good if he was at Blackburn ?
Evans was the same laughing stock.

130 League games in 8 full seasons.
To play for Pep....as simple as that....the draw of our manager is immense to someGoing from club captain to 4th choice. Playing every week to playing cup/minor games. Might be what we need but why does he want it?

Nolito is a great player who wasnt happy in Manchester, like a few more weve hadHe signed Nolito.
haha no stand by every word JFE isnt going to be 4th choice, you dont pay nearly 30 mill for a 30 year old 4th choice, you pay it to play him in the teamI take it you were really drunk when you posted this?
