Riyad Mahrez

We were not in for Sanchez until Jesus got injured. There was a last minute enquiry when Jesus got injured by which time he was Utd bound.

Don't you remember deadline day of the summer transfer window?

Of course we were in for him before any injury to Jesus and but for them going back on their words he would be a blue now.

We are not paying 90 mil now. Or 80.

Pep has gone to great lengths to warn Leicester of this.

If we had a transfer budget of 90 mil, in the summer, we would spend it on players we need, not players we want.

So where is Mahrez going ? Barca ? Nope. Real Madrid ? Nope. PSG ? If they sell Neymar would they use 70% of the money on Mahrez ? Utd ? Maybe as they have no plan, but they are full in those positions. City after refusing to pay it now ? Nope. Bayern Munich ? Not likely is it ?

So will Arsenal Spurs or Everton spend 90 mil on Mahrez ?

So will Mahrez just knuckle down & be an inspired matchwinner for Leicester next season ?
That's an awful lot of question marks.

Chelsea and Roma were upping bids £1m at a time. For some reason they seem to think we're Burnley and don't have billionaire owners or a few hundred million than others around us thanks to winning the league and £80m from the champions league last year alone. Roma bid £17m for Mahrez in the summer the jokers.

Our owners are serious about building the club and have actually been up at your place looking at all your training facilities etc as they are buying land here and wanting to do the same. Want to either extend the ground or build a new one. They aren't looking to make a quick buck off a player sale.

All noble stances.

However, you don't factor he will be worth £40m less in four months time?

This is it for Mahrez, he's making it very clear a deal gets done, he won't be putting a shift in for Leicester ever again.

Can the club justify keeping a player who has effectively gone on strike indefinitely?

Good post fella.

And Mahrez is 26 and one of the best attacking players in the premier league, proven at his level. Attacking players go for more, we don't set the market. You guys do spending £50m on defenders.

We don't set the fucking market. The price of defenders has gone up because of the record breaking ****s who keep pushing up transfer fees in general. That's the only reason you can ask anything like this money for Mahrez when KDB was 50 mil & we got slaughtered for paying it.

So who will buy him next season for 90 mil, other than Utd if they run out of ideas again ?

It won't be us.

We would have broken it to buy Sanchez. Why not here? I think Pep will get him flying in our system and he wants to come to play not to count bank notes.

I am sure we will go to our record here. But not way over. we would not have done that for Sanchez either.
I wasn’t as much a fan of that move, either, to be honest.

As I’ve said, I’ll welcome him with open arms and patience if he comes but I’d be perfectly happy also just letting Diaz (and later Jesus) play while Sane recovers and I am not convinced Mahrez really fits our system (he’s never shown he is a presser or has much interest in defending in general).

Yeah that's what I've just wrote... he's forgetting he is refusing to play.... Leicester will have a big choice to make. Accept 50 - 60m or have a upset player who doesn't want to be there.

I'm talking about the value he'd be for you in the summer if you signed him.

You don't seem to mention VVD or your new defender. £57m for an uncapped, untried defender in this league... bidding less than that for one of the best attacking players is a joke when you're talking about the owners of him being cash rich.

Mahrez will cost us nowhere near £100 million in the summer because we simply won't pay it. You're the side who will have a player who doesn't want to be there and I mean this with no disrespect, bigger clubs than Leicester have lost bigger players than Mahrez who didn't want to be there.

Also, not all transfers are comparable in football. Coutinho, Van Dijk and Dembele are all transfers made from the back of the Neymar deal. That's why they were overpriced.
