Shouldn't City be paying staff real living wage?

If you are right then the club are ducking the issue. There's no excuse and, in my view, they should set a better example, especially as they want to promote themselves as a club that's part of the community.

Very, very happy to see this as it is a sustainable model that, beyond the greatest benefit of ensuring people are paid the bare minimum for living (which can be scaled in the future, as needed), also leads to a multiplier effect that ends up benefiting the club financially, anyway.

Every profitable enterprise should commit to this structure as it leads to community security, more prosperous labour, higher engagement from your costumers, and longer term market stability and resiliency. We need to move away from short-term (maximisation of shareholder value) thinking and toward more holistic (maximisation of stakeholder value) development.

It’s hardly worth a “well done”, it’s something they should have been doing already. The fact that they haven’t is a bit of a disgrace, just like all the others who don’t. These football clubs milk as much money from fans as possible, pay their players and coaches obscene amounts yet all along have underpaid everyday staff.

Every single club should give bonuses to those who haven’t been paid a living wage all along as back payment.
 
fucking great,no wonder we couldn't get our attacking transfers sorted,and people saying well done WTF,yeah well done on paying the lad serving chips that extra 20p an hour, but we got pipped for the title with a sanchez winner
 
all Premier League clubs bearing in mind how much they get from TV and how much they pay the players should be paying normal staff well above the national living wage
