Six on the bench is weird. I assume we travelled with more players than necessary, but a few have had late injuries/illnesses. Otherwise it'd be baffling to not have an academy player on there making up numbers.

A bit strange to not at least have one of the EDS or Academy players on the bench to fill out the numbers.

Not sure what to make of that, honestly.

I presume Pep is making a point regarding the number of injuries we have, but it’s still a massive kick in the teeth to the Academy

Seems like we are going to be rotating the centre backs a lot. Not sure if that's a good thing.

Strange that nmecha isn't even on the bench. Really harsh on him and other academy players. Maybe he doesn't actually rate the others we have

I'd imagine Stones was expected to be fit but pulled out at the last minute. No point dragging Nmecha to Burnley without warning at his age, just causes unnecessary stress.

At least Zinchenko might finally get some minutes in an attacking position.

I can only think of one reason for Danilo instead of Zinch. It’s the physicality of Burnley.
Time for Gundy to step up now. Good to see Diaz on the bench again.
This will be a TOUGH physical game. Dicksplash Dyche will no doubt want a few choice tackles in early.
Laporte needs to come on to give him a taste of the physical part of the PL.
I’ll take a 1-0 to us now with no injuries.

That doesn't make any sense, more then likely he would have just been on the bench anyway. I don't think being on the bench for us would cause him or us stress. Why would it ?

Silva being rested no doubt to recover from the bruised side as Bluewhit said he was ok and Stones must still be under the weather.

Good relief that Diaz came off that shocking tackle ok its been twice now and I hope its the last one he has to cope with this season.

Maybe Kidd lost count or one of the young ones missed the bus.

Good move to play VK , if he is fit we need to get as many games from him as possible , Bernardo and Gundagon are improving every game , love the Sky build from Cottee ,he says looking at our team sheet apparently Burnley now definitely have a chance today , not sure bringing Danilo , Kompany , Bernardo and Gundogan makes us a weak team though. When asked about protection of our players , he has no sympathy because he faced far worse when he was playing , what a dinosaur
