What are your Wembley plans?

Cutting ones nose off to spite ones face it sounds like to me mate..Hey ho, each to their own..!
I think you may be confused.I will be at Wembley a week on Sunday ... its the FA Cup semi finals I refuse to go to.At my age I`ve been to Wembley to watch City on numerous occasions but the FA can just fuck off.
I`m not cutting my nose of all mate.If I was doing that then I would be miserable at the thought of missing out.I don`t.

Fair enough mate, I'm an old Cnut, but I couldnt miss a City Wembley trip at Any cost, nothing better for me, don't get me wrong I feel the same way about the FA though, just don't let them get in the way when it comes to City ..

I have been to every final and semi final in all cup competitions since my first in 1969.
I have also been to the charity shield games. However following the last one v Arsenal I will not attend another community shield game again at Wembley.
In years gone by it was always held at the home of the previous seasons champions but the FA/Wembley have now taken over.
We played Chelsea at Villa Park and our end was full and the Chavs had thousands of empty seats, just shows how the London clubs value/support it when having to travel.
So if we are fortunate enough to win the league or FA cup I will be missing A City game at Wembley for the first time in 49 years.
Would love to see a total boycott by both clubs to say enough is enough but know it wont happen.

Leave the house with a Danish friend over for the game.
Drive to Salford to pick up a mate.
Pick up booze cruise coach from the Wembley roundabout of the north....Roxy
Drink
Stretch legs at Warwick
Drink
Arrive Wealdstone
Drink
Walk/Tube to the game
Quick one inside the ground
Watch us play
Meet son from his 'on the pitch' experience
Tube/walk to Wealdstone
Drink
Stretch Legs again at Warwick
Drink
Jump off coach after a disco at the Roxy
Walk/Stagger home.
Really looking forward to this, mate!

Cant wait!!!

It’s been at Wembley since the early / mid 70’s apart from when it was being rebuilt

The only reason we played at Villa Park was because Wembley was required for the olympics

So it’s hardly a new thing

I remember watching us in the 70s in two charity finals one at Villa park v Villa, and at Maine Rd v Burnley.

[QUOTESo it’s hardly a new thing[/QUOTE]

I know its not a new thing but with FA cup semi finals now being at Wembley the whole Wembley thing is devalued.
Plus none of the teams consider it a serious game/trophy(other than utd)
Is it really necessary?
Still not going

Anyway next week will be leaving 8 am fully loaded mini bus with 12 of us using park on my drive about 15 min walk to the pubs/ground

Watching it in the local pub run by a Blue landlord, can’t make it down this year as caring for my partner, and didn’t like that end of the ground when I went v Dippers 2 years ago.

It's just a glorified friendly, and like it says on the tin, it raises money for charity

Don't see a problem with it as long as you don't take it too seriously and definitely don't count it as a trophy, unlike as you correctly say the Rags do

Take it or leave it. I missed the Chelsea one as I was at a christening and missed the arsenal one as I was on holiday in Portugal. Wasn't too excited about winning the first and wasn't bothered about losing the second

Next week we'll be parking the car at Ruislip, few beers in the boozers on the high street, then tube into Wembley park. Did exactly the same for the Liverpool final and it worked a treat

Staying over in Harrow - expect to get beat due to not playing a 'keeper, so may as well have a proper drink.

Currently trying to find the best place to watch the Chelsea/United game and get to the ground with time to spare.

Probably go to Kings X / Euston then West Hampstead or Finchley Road to find a boozer with SKY Sports.

Will stumble home to MiL Towers at around midnight.
