League Cup Final - Post Match Thread

Just got back after having had an overnight in Hertford, and have only read the last 4 pages.

I presume that the posters from the prematch thread who were casting their doubts on Bravo's ability and how he would cost us dearly, have now all eaten humble pie. An assist for the first goal, two excellent saves, and almost perfect distribution that Ederson would have been proud of.

A great day out, a fine win, and the first of many trophies for Pep's team.

Well done lads.

The second goal and, technically, he has a case. They showed a reply in the ground that had me looking intently at the ref to see if VAR would spoil the fun, having just celebrated wildly.

Sane was definitely offside in a position that could have been deemed to have unsighted the keeper; however, Ospina's movement suggests that Sane did not affect the keeper who was clearly moving in the direction of Gundogan's shot and had absolutely no hope of recovering and stopping Vinnie's deflection. I think Sane was therefore an irrelevance and the goal correctly stood, but I am biased.
Jokes of the year.
From behind the goal Sane clearly is not interfering with play as Gundogan shoots and Kompany deliberately deflects it.
As to the first goal Aguero stood his ground as Mustafi backed into him. Sergio placed his arm so that Mustafi backing into him would not bring him down.

Channel 5 did a good highlights and on the pitch interviews last night if you can find it

Still buzzing,i love giving out a good hidings to our "rivals"

Great for the old guard to show the youngsters what they need to do

I would just like to thank the Arsenal fans...................... a mass exodus by them after 80 minutes made it very easy for us to get the away from Wembley after seeing our lads lift the cup.

Half and half scarf! Have social services been altered?

Seriously though, I've taken one of my daughters to the last two finals, cos Our Kid couldn't go, and it is something rather special. She's just 17 but only got interested in going to games relatively recently. Such days are really priceless.

In answer to your question, yes they are now called Services Social !!

Found it on YouTube :-)

Watch "Arsenal vs Man City 0-3 Full Match with English Commentary (Carabao Cup Final) 2017-18 HD 720p" on YouTube

Nice one.

Just had a very pleasantly hung-over couple of hours watching all that.

What a great day. So glad I was there.

Met some lads from Glossop from Back2Basics days that I haven't seen in about 18 years in Watkin's Folly, which was a great pub, so that really added to the day. I'll be going there next time we've got the East end.

Feels like that was the biggest celebration since 93.20 for me, because it felt like we all were celebrating our League form(win) too.. It was the moment that we won the first title(s) under Pep, and it felt like the announcement that his era has definitely started.

The thought of what might lie ahead are almost too much to even hope for.

What a ride this is! Thanks Dad.
