Do you really believe the league is over...?

if we win sumday then it cn be time to sing 'that song' in the situation we are in it isn't arrogance and after many tense finishes lets enjoy this for a change.
No. I think we can start to sing it about 2 minutes from the end of the match we need to win (whichever that is) to be mathematically certain of winning the title, but only if we are winning 4-0. Let's not be presumptuous.

(Old habits still die hard with me, and we're not red dippers)

Also we as a big club now must move on from united. We must not consruct our identity as pure anti-united or anti-another club. Our aim must be achieve new targets for us, for our club, not making them angry.

Agreed. When United were winning everything, they didn't care about us. We need to get away from this "obsession" with United. It is small-time. These days, United are just one of 19 other teams we must finish above to win the league.

Win on Sunday and you can start to hear the fat lady, Rags and Liverpool play next week so one or both are dropping points

Correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure they had a banner in the stadium about us.

I agree with this, but I'd still kind of like the guard of honour. The resentment of having twenty years of having utter contempt poured all over you doesn't go away easily. But I agree, it doesn't matter all that much – it'd just tickle me if it did.
What I would like, on the other hand, is for us to break Chelsea's record number of points. Ten more matches to play, twenty one points to do it.

Yeah, they liked to mock us with a banner but from a footballing point of view, winning things was far more important to them than what we were doing at the time. I still feel that a certain percentage of our support are more concerned with getting one over on United, than winning trophies.

I think we've won it tbh, and I don't like counting my chickens but I cannot see us being caught.

Is now getting to the point of thinking about next year's attempt at back to back Premier trophies, I can't wait

Fair enough.

So we need five more wins from Brighton, Stoke, Swansea, West Ham, Huddersfield and Southampton who should all be beaten.
With Chelsea, Everton, scum and Spurs in reserve

And people think we won't do it? Blimey
Rags will drop points as well, we may only need three wins and a draw after they play Liverpool

While to a certain extent I agree. On the other hand I still hate Millwall and Leeds, I hate Stockport and FC United, and I will always want to get or over on the Rags no matter what.

I’m sure that counts for Paris fans over Marseille, Barça fans over Madrid, Flamengo fans over Flumenense, Boca fans over River Plate and any other rivalry anywhere in the world.

It’s not an obsession, it’s just a rivalry on the whole (although you are quite correct that some of or fans are obsessed with them but it’s not everyone).

On Sunday I didn’t give United a thought on my own, even shouted “fuck the Rags” when people started United songs “just sing about City in a final”. But they’ll never just be one of the other 19. Neither will Liverpool and those other clubs above won’t just be four of 150.

According to some Liverpool would catch us if that scenario played out

I think Liverpool will come 2nd, I see Utd dropping points, maybe even against Palace on Monday, but Pool winning most of theirs. A draw between the two of them when they play next weekend would just about kill off both of their remaining chances

They’re still insecure, it might take a few decades to drill it out of our fanbase, for some it may never leave them (losing at Wigan the other week doesn’t help people get over “Typical City” after all haha)

Anything but a Liverpool win in that game means we can win it at the derby if we win the next three games. If the scousers beat them & win their other games then we could win the derby and be 18 points ahead of Liverpool but with 6 to play.

If we don't do it, I will put my head on a railway line.
And I'll take a sandwich to keep me going in case the trains are running late.

I've been following City since 1962, and this team has proved to me that its over, and I'm gutted we lost to Wigan as I wanted the domestic treble
