Paedophilia within the game/City launch redress scheme

Earlier this month, former Manchester City and Crewe coach Bennell was found guilty of 50 counts of historical child sexual abuse and sentenced to 31 years in prison.

The above is from the Dan Roan article so is it a fact Bennell was a coach at MCFC?

I always understood that he was a scout but used the MCFC name on his calling cards (not the best of words under the circumstances)

A former Crewe Alexandra employee claims that in 2001 he was asked by a senior official at the club to help wipe pornography off the home computer of then-manager Dario Gradi, the BBC has learned.

According to a statement given to the NSPCC in 2011, the man - who does not want to be identified - was told that Gradi had been hosting a group of young Irish Under-13 players at his house and they had been viewing the material on his computer.

Crewe state that, "Cheshire Police initiated its own extremely thorough investigation into the club. This included not only investigating the allegations involving Mr Bennell, but also to determine what knowledge Crewe Alexandra may have had of Mr Bennell’s offending."

Therefore, Crewe have no need to conduct an inquiry of their own.

Finally got round to watching the Dispatches program this morning, not pleasant at all.

Is the Boler at Crewe connected to Steven Boler at City?

Meanwhile, another guy charged with offences over a 30-year period against 11 boys. He was associated with Norwich, Cambridge, and Peterborough.

There's a very good and fairly succinct opinion piece by Daniel Taylor in today's Observer about why Crewe's refusal to investigate further is an absolute fucking disgrace. It begins with the revelation that "one of the former players who was subjected to years of abuse within the house of horrors that was Gresty Road tells me he was physically sick when he heard the news".

You have to scroll down past all the Wenger stuff to read it. Link here: https://amp.theguardian.com/footbal...al-arsenal-send-off?__twitter_impression=true
