Basel (H) Post Match Thread

impressed with brahims contribution. hope to see him produce in any minutes given after we wrap up the league. think he's ready to backup raheem next season

Interesting stat, we hve never won both legs of a knockout tie in the champs league (not qualifiers)

Job well done try telling the fans who spent shit loads of money to go watch that, side to side bullshit passing and no one could be arsed bar Leroy and the young lads..

Not the best of performances and there aren't many positives that can be taken from the defeat but at least we are through to the next round and both Foden and Diaz looked lively..

I know we are through and at the end of the day that's all that counts but you cant deny that second half performance was dire. We gave the ball away so much and when we did have it all we did was make 10 feet square passes. I cant recall a single effort on goal in that half. I know it doesn't matter but it it still hurts. First home loss since December 2016 and it simply shouldn't have happened.

Well done ...qualified for the quarter finals !

Though have to say hope Delph comes back soon , Zinchencho was shocking

Job done but every time we play a weaken team they are wank.
Proves how much this side relies on KDB and Silva.
Can't keep a clean sheet if Stones plays.

Whole back 4 plus Gundo Yaya Jesus, shite. Garbage performance.

But fans booing ?

I had a ticket & couldn't go, but was that really City fans, & not the whereverthyrefroms taking the piss ?

If it was, then perhaps, like the day when I gave up smoking, I might have finally found the moment to quit.

Main players got the night off and through to the quarters. Job done even if the performance was poor.

We could point to a few players bringing the tempo down, others had a slightly off game but it was game we could afford to lose. We also let the ball do the work for a lot of it too with all those passes, so hopefully not taken too much out of the players, no game until Monday and a nice break coming up after it.

Stones was ok but the rest of the back 4 were very poor tonight. Zinchenko giving the ball away on a number of occasions and Laporte looked half asleep. I know it was a bit of a dead rubber but you want to see these players trying to prove their worth to the manager. Result wasn’t important but the performance of some individuals was worrying.

Glad to be through and enjoyed watching the future. A few minutes late in the game and you could see the speed at which we’ll be playing in the coming seasons.

Poor from most players, but we're through. Thought Bernardo and Sané were good in the 1st half, but that's it really. Roll on the draw next week, glad Spurs are out.
