There were players who slowed it more... Gundogan, Zinchenko and Danilo, Yaya did ok considering these 3 were sloppy tonight.

Yet pretty much all of those have made a positive contribution to the season and will continue to do so when really required. The only objectives were to get through without injuries, give some fringe players some game time and give a few of the kids a run out. We did all that and coasted through to the last 8.
 
Don't usually post in the post match threads but there was a lot of fair weather fans out tonight. Groaning and moaning every chance they get.

We were through, we played a rotated team. Yaya legs have gone, foden still young and learning. Not sure what people were booing tbh.

We are watching genius in the making and have so much to cheer and be happy about.

Had a guy behind us shouting "oh come on!" Throughout the game every time we played it at the back or kept possession, as if they've never watched us play before. Safe to say I haven't seen him before and probably won't again.

Onto the quarters!!

No doubt, but that isn’t to say there were not any positives.

I couldn’t have give a fuck if we had lost that 3-0

Foden and Diaz have got minutes under their belt

Same for Jesus

Everyone else wasn’t arsed apart from Sane , Yaya’s ghost was kicking off his farewell tour

Just watching the interview with Stones and Yaya and got the impression their days are numbered. Very subdued considering we are thru to the next round.
 
So many changes had its impact. Already through, key players rested. We can sit back and watch the rags sweat while we look forward to the draw.
 
Great news though guys, we broke the CL passes in a game record! Presumably mainly Gundogan and Zinchenko again
 
I think Touré should play one more game for us- our penultimate home league game. We can make it a leaving ceremony and focus on him.

He has a point. The drop off in quality when Kev, Dave and Sergio aren’t out there is disproportionately steep. Had it not been for Leroy and Bernardo (1st half only) and a decent cameo from young Diaz, I’d have rated that as the most toothless City performance of the last 5 years. We had over 900 passes and only one shot in the final 55 minutes of the game. Our back up players have got to have more zip than that. Jesus in particular I thought was awful and Stones sloppy beyond belief in the 1st half. Good for Foden to get a run out and Jesus will of course improve dramatically once he gets his fitness back, but all in all that was fucking piss poor stuff.
 
some weird people on here. the game was already won so Pep adopted perfect game management. play the players who r struggling to get in the 1st eleven n blood the kids. perfect game for experience. the game wud be a victory in peps eyes....teenagers blooded in the CL and fringe players run out against a CL team.
