2005/06 FA Youth Cup Run

Stuart Pearce royally fucked me off with regards to the final.
Micha Richards was captain and clear leader of the team.
The 1st leg of the final was a Friday night at Anfield.
Pearce chose to have Richards in the 1st team squad for a meaningless end of season game at West Ham the following day (which ended 0-0).
Without their leader, the Youth Team lost 3-0.
With Richards in the 2nd leg, and inspiring the team, we won 2-0 and slaughtered them but just couldn't get the 3rd despite throwing everything at them including the kitchen sink!

Even their manager, Steve Highway, admitted he had no idea how Liverpool left Eastlands with the cup.

Thank you Stuart Pearce for absolutely nothing, you knob.

At least you’re over it....

Funny incident when we played the rags in the quarter final. City fans were in the Colin Bell stand and North stand with rags in the South Stand.
There were 2 or 3 kids, rags, probably around 10 - 12 years old and in the City ends and being a little cheeky, So they decided to walk around the East Stand to the away fans section where they were given short thrift by the stewards and told to go away. On walking back around to the South Stand a couple of stewards came for them and the kids ran them ragged jumping over seats and running down rows. Everyone stopped watching the game just to watch these kids running around the aging stewards! Eventually more stewards came and cornered them, grabbed them and chucked them out - to a great roar!
And we went back to watching the game!
Always is good to see the youth team beating the rags ;)

Haha I remember that you've just dredged it up from my deep memory banks.

City's players certainly went on to have more success than their victorious opponents.

Of those players listed on Wiki, including subs, seven of the Liverpool team still play in the Football League, and four went on to play for Liverpool's first team (including Miki Roque, who sadly passed away in 2012). None of them, however, play in the Premier League or a foreign equivalent, and, furthermore, none of them played at full international level.

For City, seven (Richards, Johnson, Williamson, Daniel Sturridge, Shaleum Logan, Kelvin Etuhu and Ched Evans) went on to play for the first team. Adam Clayton has also built a very successful career in the Championship. Three of them (Richards, Sturridge and Evans) went on to play internationally.
