United (H) Post Match Thread

Do those saying that Kun or Jesus would have scored the chances that Raz missed think that they would have actually been in the position he was for the first two misses? I do not think they would. Great movement from Raz but abysmal finishing.

I think Guardiola's selection was ok and that he was let down by finishing and the performance of the match officials. A chance to become legends has been lost but we need to regroup and at least give things a good go on Tuesday. I think winning the tie is unlikely but we should at least try to win the game.

I remember how much the Bournemouth 3-3 hurt me and this does not feel as bad as that. Maybe it is mellowing with age or the knowledge that we will (eventually) win the league but still pretty down. Gonna turn off the phone, open a nice bottle of Talisker and watch something on Netflix to avoid smug rags who will swamp the media.

Not singling him out, but if Sterling put those 2 easy chances away, it's game over.

That's the fine margins. We can blame the refs all day long, but he puts them away and its a different story.

It's Guardiola's fault as Jesus or Agüero would have scored Sterling's chances. It's Guardiola'a fault as we could've changed that game with substitutions at 2:1 or 2:2. It's Guardiola's fault as he disrespected this unprecedented opportunity in his vain pursuit for personal European success.
Agree with this totally but the ref played his part.

We're still going to win the title. City will be Premier League Champions!
Whether this happens at Spurs or the following week, it happens.

And we've already put 8 past Liverpool this season, we can do that again.

The players know they owe us a big performance after today, Liverpool will feel the backlash.

Yes Finally some common sense. So much bloody overreacting now. We will still win the league. Sure it is sort of on a lower note now but a title is still a title. Progression in the CL is very tough however. There is still a chance but it's not good. Next year we will improve.

Should have been out of sight in the first half, but we put ourselves in a position to allow ourselve to be dry-bummed by the officials.

I said it during the match thread. There was something very fishy about the officiating. The lino made some very poor (suspiciously bent) calls. The Ashley Young one in the first half was the start of it. He waited a good few seconds to put his flag up. He also got a couple of blindingly obvious throw in call wrong. The worst by far was the stone wall pen against Aguero. The ref also had a shocker.

No wonder we ain't got any going to the World Cup if he's supposedly our best.

At least the players and some fans will now realise that they're not the best team in the world.

This poor run will continue for me I can see Liverpool doing a job on us now,the players will be hugely deflated especially after being two up,spurs will be extremely hard with Fernandinho missing, this team is good but no where near what people think,we are stumbling over the line thank fuck we have such a large gap..
Liverpool have already done a job on us in the first half hour of the first leg!

Better than not fighting at all

Of course, but today was a one off a chance and Tuesday is a faint hope. The players will be as down as we all are and not on a high.

That's the risk you take if you play the next game in your head instead of the one in front of you.

It is also very rare to lose a half and end up going from needing one win for a title to two.

It feels like going backwards when we were going so great at Everton just 7 days ago.

We will likely regroup and feel better soon but right now it feels hard to view today as any kind of positive.
