Liverpool (h) - CL QF post match thread

Really pissed off after sgain witnessing a fantastic first half but only one goal and one disallowed.....the damage was done at klanfield. But that individual error again tonight (otamendi) wont be tolerated by Pep.

We seem to have hit a brick wall at this moment of the season. We will bounce back and only get stronger from this experience especially our young lads.

Lets go and win the league now and cap of a fantastic season football from our club

The disallowed goal made a huge difference.

The crowd fucking off with 15 minutes left was a disappointment

We are seeing last year's pre christmas team in action - 2 shots, 2 goals tonight, 3 shots 3 goals against Salford and 3 shots 3 goals against this lot last week. If we had similar finishing...

Was always going to be difficult to get through a tie where so many things went against us over the two legs.

But we didn't do ourselves any favours and we need to conquer this issue we have against the dippers.

Yes ref made some bad decisions, but every defeat it's always the refs fault, for all our attacking in the first half there keeper made 1 save, we dominated the first half but rarely created

simple really

Shite defending and dreadful finishing has cost us, just like at the weekend

Poor show over the two legs, just not good enough

Couldn’t have started any better than we did today, then just seemed to give up at half time for some reason.

Roma have just shown us how it’s done

I think the lads are mentally shot especially after the last 3 games I think they need a rest from the relentless onslaught of bad decisions that they have received this year

We lost 5-1 but that doesn’t begin to tell the story. 2 fucking offside goals given against us which were on, 2 clear penalties not given... one offside goal for them. It’s ridiculous. What annoys me is that it will get swept under the carpet.
And Bernardo hit the post. Unlucky. With the disallowed goal would have been 3-0 up

Shite referreeing, poor decision-making by defenders and a misfiring attack is a terrible mix.

Ah well, we have some very good young players who are going to improve playing under a top coach.

Looking at the positives, with the season finishing like this, it will help to sharpen minds and effort in the summer. No chance of us resting on our laurels.

This, if we're going to take positives.
Just want the title won now and the season finished.
Feel knacked from the footy so God knows how the players must feel

Ref messed up big time and made this more difficult but cant blame the ref for Ota falling on his arse and giving Liverpool away goal. Another game we couldnt keep it going for a full 90mins. Thats now 8 goals in 3 games our defense has given away and still not putting enough chances away....Great first 45mins but thats the problem....a game is 90mins!! Oh well, lets get the prem sorted as soon as poss!!!!

Disappointed but at least we will have something Liverpool will never have

Kompany-City-1.jpg

They might have another Champions league trophy though, something we have never had.

They have 20 league titles to fall back on.

I don't blame our players for letting their heads drop... with the chances we had not going in, it's hard enough without their(officials) bent decisions chipping away at the hope they have. I can feel it and I'm not even on the pitch it must be double when you're busting a gutt playing them off the park for most of the game.

About 40 chances for us and 3 goals and about 7 chances for the opposition and 5 goals conceeded.

THAT is the problem - not referees.

100 referees could not stop you winning if you do even slightly better than that at either end.

Two poor second halves after two great first halves is a pattern too and not a conspiracy.

We have to win Saturday as losing 4 on the trot will do huge damage to next season even given we do limp over the line this season as of course we will.

This awful week HAS to end fast or our fantastic season will be tarnished and other teams hugely encouraged for next season.

Winning the game tonight even when losing the tie should have been a minimum. But to twice be the better side by miles and capitulate at home is a bit of a concern over mentality somewhere.

Saturday has become one huge game and we have to show we can win again at Wembley.

Reminds me of last season
Poor decisions in every game catch up with you eventually

We have overcome them most of season but in big games recently the decisions are key and pivotal

You can’t have 3/4 decisions against you at top level and win

Think we’ll set some records in pRem now and finish on a high

3/4 decent signings and well do same next year
