Liverpool (h) - CL QF post match thread

Yeah....not having that tbh, he was stood about a yard away from what I can remember.

I will just remind you of a certain penalty given against us a few years back against Liverpool funnily enough.

We get fuck all and we get shafted.

Let’s not go on about that one, without VAR the linesman has a though job of seeing that, his ear and a few hairs looked just about offside from the still camera shot
Give over with that... you may bend over and ask for "more of the same please ref, you're doing a great job sir" , I'm certainly not following that weak mindset.

We could have done better I'm not arguing that we were wasteful in attack and generous in defence but we play a high risk game so the small margins matter, you hear it all the time in football yet you fail to grasp the concept. It's not easy to play well when everything is going against you, it's clear as day to me that's what happened, our defence panicked again at the idea of giving up a goal after doing so well and again it happened.

PEP: I said it was a goal when the ball was passed to @LeroySane19 That’s why he sent me off. It would have been different to go in 2-0 . It’s different when Salah’s goal at Anfield is offside. It’s different when @gabrieljesus33's goal at Anfield is offside.

PEP: In this competition the teams are so equal and the influence of refereeing decisions is so important. We’ll go again next season.

PEP: We’ve had ten amazing months. We have to recover mentally for the 6 games remaining. Our ten month winning spell is exceptional.

PEP: You won’t find a team who can keep the same momentum over the course of eleven months. I give them credit for the performance against United and the first 45 minutes today. Maybe in the future I will realise what the trick is.

Like they did at the Etihad? Couple of bad results and the surrender monkeys are out in full force.

No the surrender monkeys appeared in the second half against the rags. Were still going to win the league and delighted about that.

Think pep is starting to see how decisions go against the teams that are not the darlings of UEFA. We will regroup and once the dust settles we can end the season on a high as premier league champions.

Good to see him calling these bent nobs out.

game off 2 halves again it was a hard task to score what we needed but for fuck sake to lose again, a win and go out and stop the mini rot would have been acceptable but why the fuck again argh

I'm gonna get fucking blasted here - Dinho looks knackered and jaded right now. This is why we need to get Fred next year to take the pressure off him. (Puts on helmet and riot gear)

Not disputing that pal... unbelievable decision to disallow Leroy's goal tonight

It never goes our way though does it?

Every close call is against, always and never in our favour and that isnt bad luck, its just outrageous cheating imo.

First keg, salah offside, jesus goal ruled out, this game Sane ruled off, Gundog goal chalked off and both games saw penalties waved away.

At this level you cant beat decisions like that its impossible for any side.

Its a forum
Shite is allowed

Course, and in the cold light of day some of that shite might actually be worth considering...unless it's anything about how the officiating didn't make a difference over the two legs when it fucking well did.

They do bloody lie though one of them was offside for a start mate... what are you talking about... doesn't get more of a lie than that!

The scoreline also lies as we should have had a penalty and two goals ourselves. Poorly thought out argument pretending the refs decisions weren't a factor.

I've never once said poor ref calls were not a factor.

The fact is we have conceded eight goals in the last three games, (OK one offside)

Not good. Like I say, poor defending at critical times.

Still, let's not get too down, at the end of the season we will have won the Premier league by a huge margin.

I assume you watch the last 3 games? Call out a decision that went in our favour.
It's like talking to brick wall with some on here they refuse to see it for fear of being taken the piss out of... like were just grasping at straws, the mature thing to do is clearly to dig Pep out and expect the players to rise again and again to the 12 man challenge.

Just need to be more clinical up front, clearly a top team and in the space of week, pundits etc are forgetting how good we have been for the other 33. We are never going to be a team that is solid defensively due to how we play, and I personally wouldn't want to change how we do if it meant conceding less.

Roma went into that barca game in a similar postion, 3 behind, and facing a forward line that is better than Liverpools, and went through, just goes to show how key that disallowed goal was at anfield
