Just got back from my dads this afternoon and his Mrs was telling me he had some friends round the day before and I'd like to share a tale that proves even on a day like today stupid things happen.....
The friend in question had just been to hospital to see a friend of his, an old friend and he visits him 3-4 times a week.
He arrives, sits down at the side of his mates bed and starts talking..
Christ, you're looking rough
Well I am 84.
No your not, you're 74 like me
No, I'm 84
Behave, 74....
They carry on the conversation for about an hour until the guy has to go....
Right, he says, I'm off and I'll see you the day after tomorrow.
OK...
He leaves and as he's walking out he sees his friend tucked up on a trolley being wheeled back into the ward. He'd just undergone surgery.
The guys mate had just spent a whole hour talking to a complete stranger who happened to be in the same bed.
