It's quiet... summer 2018.

Thats not the point we have adapted the way we play to suit Delph, as pointed out to me on another thread the reason Sane doest get into the goalscoring positions Sterling does is he doesn't have an overlapping full back. The reason we haven't seen much of three at the back since Mendy got injured is because he isn't a wing back. So as well as Delph has done as an inverted full back if Mendy misses games next season we need the option of not having to change how we play with a like for like replacement.
I think the opposite may be true , we play very well with Delph and he offers a tactical variation to Mendy rather than an inferior backup.

There's no way we're buying a left back this summer. You're not going to find someone who's going to be happy sitting behind Mendy and (probably) Delph. And whoever you do likely isn't worth wasting a foreign slot on. If we do anything it would make much more sense to being Angelino back into the squad. He's has an excellent season, deserves a shot, and is a homegrown player.

This is the point where the club have slipped up before....we won it under Mancini and he didnt get the transfers he wanted (whether that was right or not is a different argument).....Hopefully this wont happen again (cant see Pep allowing it to happen esp with the relationship he has with Txixi)....we need to not lose anyone that we don't want to (again probably wont happen), shift on the likes of Mangala, Yaya and bring in 3-4 absolutely quality players.

Key positions are central midfield (ferna alternative) - absolute priority number one above all else. - We have been extremely lucky the sense that Ferna seems to rarely pick up injuries....lets not push that luck too far esp as he is getting older. maybe we need two midfielders (we know how Pep likes his midfielders.

a wide attacking forward who can play anywhere across the front 3. Someone who is certainly more comfortable centrally (or at least with a better eye for goal) than sterling - not to replace sterling as i think he has been amazing this season but someone who can be rotated with any of the attacking from 3 at anytime.

Maybe a back up left back (however i take on board what someone above posted in regards to delph and maybe not being able to find a better alternative that is willing to play back up)

Pep Guardiola will be handed up to £200m this summer, with potential targets including Fred, Jorginho, Julian Weigl, Thomas Lemar, Riyad Mahrez and Toby Alderweireld. [Mirror]

Random, but what ever happened with that ruling over the Benjamin Garre transfer?

A verdict on the case involving Manchester City's signing of Benjamin Garré from Velez is expected in the next week. If City lose the case, they could face a two-window transfer ban. [Telegraph / Daily Mail]

But the transfer was ratified by uefa so how can city be punished!?!
