Pep Guardiola rules out Sergio Aguero leaving Manchester City

Pep has obviously said this about players before, and they still ended up shipping out, and his comments aren’t especially definitive in this case. Both Pep and Kun have made similar statements indicating “I am happy, so it’s up to the other party” so who knows where this goes.

Sam Lee: Guardiola unsure on Aguero's Man City future

"Goal has previously reported, via sources close to Aguero, that the striker is annoyed when Guardiola makes statements such as those on Friday.
According to those sources, while Guardiola says it is Aguero who will decide when he leaves, the reality is that he would be happy to sanction a sale.
Sources close to Guardiola, however, stress that he has been delighted with the 29-year-old’s progress this season, particularly in recent months, and that he wants him to stay at City."

It's quite believable, as I think Aguero is simply a wrong type of a striker for Guardiola. Anyway, selling him without getting a worldclass replacement doesn't make much sense, especially in the light of GJ's recent poor performances. But if Griezmann-Aguero swap deal becomes possible, I'm sure Pep will jump at the opportunity.

Jeez the effort to get him sold by some people every summer is amazing,we are letting the old timers and legends run down their contracts and not selling them or has no-one been listening

So which is it Goal or is this the usual click bait about sergio we get evey summer

Leave? No chance he has scored 21 goals in 22 league starts this year.

Bored of this crap already!

Interesting ! Seems like it coincides when he had that problem vs Southampton which must've been around 5 years ago.

would be quite funny if Young's hack has forced him to have surgery which actually makes his knee better than if he hadn't got injured, and he goes and breaks Salah's "record" next season ;).

Sergio's performances next season could be very interesting.

I was just thinking the same

I feel like he's been waiting to really go on a goalscoring rampage for a while now and things keep getting in the way.

A player like him, in a Guardiola side scoring as many goals as we do should be getting 40-50 goals a season and easily 30 in the league, and he can do that if he plays like he has at times under Pep. He's been getting the chances too.

If his knee has been bothering him and it's now fixed, that could be exactly the kind of thing that sparks that.

I put £10 on him to break the 31 goal record this season, and I think he would have gotten close if he'd stayed fit. I'll be doing the same again in August.
