How it's shaping up (last updated 17:30 15/05):
https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/seedcl2018.html
Groups 1 & 2 assemble as follows:
So if Real Madrid win the CL final then Real Madrid go into Pot 1 and Liverpool fall into pot 3.
If Liverpool win then they're in Pot 1 and Real Madrid drop into Pot 2.
Qualification changes mean the Europa League final winner goes into pot 1. So if Atletico win they go in Pot 1. If Marseilles win then they go into Pot 1 and Atletico drop into Pot 2.
If Basle (currently 2nd in Swiz League) emerge from the qualifying groups then they go into Pot 2 In which if Liverpool win the CL Final, Spurs would be pushed into Pot 3.

I was going to wait until after the Champions League final because there are a number of variables at this point, but as of last Friday - if Real and Atleti win, and league tables end as they are, and if the strongest seeds make it through qualifying then it will look like this;

Pot 1
Real*
Bayern
Atleti*
Barcelona
Juventus
PSG
City
Lokomotiv Moscow

Pot 2
Dortmund
Porto
United
Shakhtar
Benfica**
Napoli
Basel**
Spurs

Pot 3
Schalke
Roma
Dynamo Kyiv**
Lyon**
Liverpool
Monaco
RB Salzburg**
CSKA Moscow

Pot 4
Lazio
Ludogorets**
Valencia
PSV**
Celtic**
Galatasaray
Club Brugge
Hoffenheim

*=assumes they win final
**=assumes they make it through qualifiers.

Feel free to point out if I've made any errors....

Basle can only go into Pot 3 if Real Madrid lose the CL final and Atletico lose the Europa final.
Spurs are in Pot 2 in Real win the CL final and Atletico win the Europa final.
Right, got it! Erm....just run that by me again

Got that screen name the honest way, it seems!

Thanks!

So the best case scenario is RM winning the CL. It means City will avoid Barca, RM, BM, Juve and PSG and all the English teams in the group stage.

I can live with that and hopefully the other teams in City’s group beat up on each other so the group can be clinched early. Keep the players rested, play all backups and youth in the League Cup and keep the A-Team fresh. I’d also be okay with them prioritizing the CL after they open up a 10-12 point lead in the league. With a deeper squad there’s no reason not to expect PL, FAC and CL trophies.

The whole seeding is a complete fix, so it works in uefa’s favour to get who they want into the next stages to generate revenue income streams to line their pockets. Champions of europe when you have 2 teams in the final that get their by hook or by crook and cant even mount a title challenge domestically.

I really hope that another competition comes around to rival this one, Fifa get a move on

That said i hope we can go and win it to make all the bitter’s squirm and them become even more bitter

Real winning the CL and Atletico withing the Europa League are best for us all round.

Agreed - as along as we don't get Roma in that scenario - qualification is assured - and if we avoid Napoli - would be very confident of top of the group.
Would like a trip to Porto as well.
