Jorginho

Better. His anticipation of danger is as good as Kante and attacking wise he is very much Nappoli's quarter back. The chip over the top of a pressing defence to feet or down the channels are his signature moves. His chips over the top of a deep defence are pretty good too. Tactics that would cause Liverpool all sorts of bother. He wouldn't need much time to adjust either as Napolli's system is so similar to ours.

How will he change the midfield dynamic? Will he allow KDB and Silva to play further forward? Does he need a DM beside him?

He is a DM. Napolli's pivot.
Invert our central midfield V and play a double piivot of Fernandinho and Jorjingho against Liverpool (till Liverpool tire) and we beat them.

Considering Di Marzio has said we want to pay £35m I highly doubt we'll go for something as obscene as £75m. It'll be done for about £40-£45m I'd say.
De Laurentis (The Italian Levy) giving anyone a player they want to keep for cheap? Hmmmmmm.
No not seeing it. Will cost us £50m+. Probably £75m.

Possibly vs some opposition.

We'll have to see how he copes. But it also Gives Fernandinho a potential helper with much more defensive awareness & would give him licence to bring the ball out & get forward if required.

Will cost us £75m I reckon after umpteen weeks of horse trading
€60 million is the figure that has been banded about and our recent history in the transfer market shows that we will do this deal on our terms and not be hung out to dry on price. Allegedly the players heads already been turned and he wants to play for us the rest is dependant upon Napoli of course.

Not really seen him enough to form an opinion outside youtube videos - might try find some full matches of Napoli and see how he does.

His passing / vision looks great though.

With the way refs are against us I feel a big vulnerability is them allowing teams to be overly physical and getting away with fouling us while we are building from the back, giving them easy high value chances while we are pushing forward. Will he get stuck in and do some dirty work if its required? Can he stand high pressing / getting roughed up a bit? Does he play for soft fouls or does he try stay strong? Mentally will he show up when we need him most or will be go into hiding when things get tough?

Sorry if this has been covered earlier in the thread.

One of the characteristics of Peps DM is there ability to drop in defence creating a back 3. Can jorginho do this?

Anyone watch enough Serie A to give an accurate assessment of how Jorginho, and if he will fit into our team well?

I've seen YouTube highlights, but they're obviously not an accurate depiction of the player.

Reina is going to Milan so they need a new keeper.

Napoli was also interested in Zinchenko.

Bravo+Zinchenko and £40m would suit everyone.

He would fit right in. Sarri plays similar football to Pep.

Jorginho is quality. Comparing to Fernandinho, he is better in possession and has superior passing. Defensively not as good as Fern but he makes up for it with his great positioning that allows him to make many interceptions.

On the other hand we would then need a new back up keeper. I think it is unrealistic to expect Angus Gunn to come back and sit on the bench. Our number 2 has to be an older keeper, approaching the end of his career, but still good enough to jump in at the highest level.

True but Bravo is no longer good enough. I would rather we bring in another back up. I'm not sure on Gunn, will he develop more playing another season in the Championship or learning from Pep and Ederson while fighting for the FA Cup and League Cup? Its not so black and white for me. If hes offered a chance to go to a PL club then there is no question but staying at mid table club in the Championship won't exactly do wonders for his career.

Not like Fernandinho does, no.

But he could possibly get in his share of blocks & interceptions in that position, enough for us to get away with it against most teams when we dominate possession. I really fancy seeing both of them play. They are both great footballers who can keep possession & create stuff.
