Those tended to be West Ham or Villa back in the 70s, City's were largely sky blue with a maroon/white bar (never "claret").

This is the iconic City scarf. Though colour is Maroon not Claret. I still have this scarf

These are my 2, bought them the week after England won the World Cup with my paper round Money savings , I think they were 5 shillings each (25p). You could always tell the originals from the ‘fault lines’ where the pattern never matched exactly on the reverse. I sewed all the patches on when I was a youngster.
