Mahrez, if he signs, is being given a big break by City; a shot at playing for Pep, alongside some of the best players in the world.

He will cost a decent amount of money.

But he comes in, bottom of the pecking order, in a record breaking team.

It's then upto him, to force his way into that team. If he fails, imo it's no different to Gundogan, who is not good enough to dislodge anyone from the first 11, but has done a useful job.

We can afford to buy Mahrez & have him as a squad player, then sell him off, if he can't break through, or a star if he does. Likewise, Bernardo & Gundogan.

They can all fight it out, to see who gets in the team & if any can succeed Silva etc.. And if Foden Diaz etc come through, they can be gradually be phased out.

If we signed a similar aged 150 mil superstar on 400k pw, he has to play. These guys don't, it's a case of the best men win.

I have high hopes for Bernardo to replace Silva eventually..... Gundogan does a job and certainly can't fault him for that ...has the attitude and happy to rotate with the squad

Did I say that Pep is a bald fraud who needs sacking and immediately be replaced by me? Unbelievable that some people genuinely do not comprehend that a forum is a place for dialogue of our opinions about a topic.

Probably Pep and Silva are the only ones who know how much game time he will get this year, Pep told us Fernandhino was on his last legs towards the end of the season the signings of Mahrez and Jorghino along with Bernardo and Gundogan will assist in every aspect of this inclusive squad performing better this season than last (hopefully)

Your issue is its a City forum and you have played so much cliche bingo it almost reads like ragcafe.

I think you’re getting confused with what “inside forward” means. You’ve used it incorrectly a few times, perhaps it doesn’t translate directly from Italian?

You’ve used “inside forward” to refer to a winger who plays on the opposite side. So for example, a left footed winger who plays on the right, who cuts inside. Like Robben for example. In England we wouldn’t call that an inside forward.

We’d say it’s “a winger who cuts inside” or more recently people have started to call them “inverted wingers”.

In England, traditionally an “inside forward” is one who doesn’t play on the wing, doesn’t play centre forward, but one who operates in the space in between. So in City’s current system, David Silva and DeBruyne operate like inside forwards.

....Inside Forward....Inside Forward

I’m sure you appreciate the difference, it’s probably just a difference in translation.

I appreciate the correction and what I meant was inverted winger when I spoke about Mahrez.

I still think Robben is an outside-right and de Bruyne a half-back, but maybe I'm just showing my age! ;-)

I’m with you on that: I think we do need to sign a Hazard or Neymar or Mbappe... but Mahrez is what I describe as a great consolation prize and if you look at him as perhaps taking Zinchenko’s place in the squad, an immediate upgrade.

No but you claiming we are inflating the market for players and suddenly posting criticism and negatives after joining in 2013 and posting nothing raises certain suspicions im afraid.
