New Kits 2018/19

I like the Nigeria one. There I said it.

It is universally agreed that ours is shit, but I'm hoping for (but not expecting) better things from the away and third.

It can only be for marketing reasons, but there's times last season when we wore the black kit when there was nowhere near a colour clash. The games at Arsenal and Stoke spring to mind. Since when did Sky Blue clash with red and white? I wouldn't mind, but didn't we wear our home kit at the Meccano Set? Is there some PL rule that you have to wear your change colours x times a season, regardless of whether there's a colour clash or not?
IIRC the club are obliged contractually to wear the away and 3rd kit a minimum number of times. I recall the club putting on the old website which games they’d wear each kit in for a season a few years ago.

The Nigerian kit has gone stratospheric sales wise. The green kit actually looks good and understated, the opposite of the other monstrosity.

It'll be all those Nigerian princes. They seem to be rolling in money that lot. Always trying to give me a few million. I guess they've got to get rid of it somehow. Buy a container load of shirts.

Yep.

That reminds me, I’ve got a share in £25,000,000 I need to give my details for...

Not universally, thought ours looked ok against Brighton.

I like the shorts and socks, and the shirt looks fine from a distance (the further away the better).

In reality, the sleeves, neckline, and button will prevent it from being well liked.

For £17 I just ordered my son the new home kit, top and shorts, all the requisite badges plus good ‘ol Serge’s moniker on the back. And no, it wasn’t from the club shop. I wouldn’t touch the club shop with a barge pole - 60 quid for a pair of trackie bottoms - scandalous.

I get my shirts from Thailand every time I go. Can’t go wrong at £30 for both Home and Away shirts, look exactly the same too. Fuck buying football merchandise at retail price, it’s a rip off.

Get my lad all 3 kits, every year from a certain man (with a very non-manlike name!) in China. Plus many others, cos my lad’s football daft, so he’s loads of Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga and national jerseys. Top quality, saves me a fortune and my lad’s none the wiser! Steadfastly refuse to put any money in the club coffers for kits - absolutely disgraceful costs.

It’s a no brainer mate. I actually think my shirts I buy in Thailand are made for retail sale but have little defects so they’re sold off for cheap. That’s my theory anyway, because my shirts are bang on.

I can only tell you what used to happen when I lived over there more than 10 years ago, but I'd guess little has changed.

If a factory won a contract to make 250,000 pairs of jeans for Diesel or football shirts for Nike, they'd make 10-15% extra on the side using the exact same materials, labels, tags etc. and sell them through markets like MBK in Bangkok, giving them a much better markup than what they were getting from Diesel/Nike/etc.

They were referred to as "real fakes" and were double the price of the obviously fake versions that would be on display. So, yeah you probably are getting retail-standard shirts from these sources.

give a link for on line order,please.....

I used to get Lacoste polo shirts on eBay from Thailand and they’d be identical to the ones sold in shops here. A fair bit cheaper too!
