Jorginho

The most alarming thing about this Grealish talk is that we are already oversubscribed position wise in the position in which he plays, which is further up the field anywhere behind the front striker. Jorghinio and ferdy for that matter play in a completely different part of the pitch to Grealish. Why on earth would city spunk 40 mil on a player for a position in which we are already covered. Or why would we pay that much to seek to convert him into a dm, deep lying play maker, when there is no record of this lad having the passing range or aptitude to play in this position. We might as well just spend the money on Zaha and seek to convert him to ferdys role. It would be bonkers to do so, but not as bad as overpaying for a player who some feel would have the capacity to play as a deep lying playmaker or dm, when there is no evidence at all of him having the capacity to do so.

Usual Txiki type negotiating. Offer much less then they want which is easily rejected every single time. Was the same with Mendy Laporte, Walker etc. Next bid bit higher but still not at where selling club is happy. then 3rd or 4th bid is exactly what selling club wants and boom clubs agree-->transfer official all this of course is taking always up to 3-6 weeks extra since the very first bid.

if we want Jorginho we will have to pay what Napoli is asking, no way they gonna say ok meet us in the middle and he is your for 45m. Its gonna be between 52-55m pounds, at least 90% of it upfront no bonus stuff.

Hard to see for 45m he is ok but for 52m he isnt right value for us...

So just pay his price Txiki wont fool anyone to be honest. I respect he is trying to change the perception of our transfer dealings but to change that quite extravagant spending policy since 2008 its just impossible imo. They always look at us like the rich club they try to take advantage of.

If Jorginho is a player that is going to make us stronger there is no point saving 5m and risking the whole deal on it for someone else to come in or any other stuff that can happen with transfers.

Of course Txiki also doesnt wanna look like the guy who pays upfront whatever is being asked. But more often than not he ends up paying exactly that much just weeks later after making multiple lower bids only to make the last bid matching what they wanted anyway.:)

Many likely to disagree mate but I get your point....I also think our negotiating tactics are very predictable, which is why things "seem" to drag on over many weeks as selling clubs know what is coming next but we almost always get our man in the end, so difficult to knock our transfer business overall.
